If you add 3G cellphone connectivity, you might as well get an iPhone instead.

I do think Apple will up the maximum flash memory on the iPhone to 64 GB with the iPhone 5, though. :) And the new 5G iPod touch due September 2011 will likely get 128 GB of flash RAM, which will finally allow Apple to phase out the iPod classic.

I think you missed the gist of his point...and your wrong companies are already starting to make 3g hotspots just for the ipods.

I agree. I'm tired of reading "if you want an ipod with 3G get an iphone" throughout these threads. I don't want a voice plan with a carrier to get an internet connected device that fits in your pocket. I'd love to have a pay as you go scheme just like the ipad 3G on an ipod 3G. As I have said before I think it will eventually happen but not until the Verizon market is saturated and iPhone sales plateau. Then apple will finally bring the ipod to the 3G or 4G party.
