Only way to find out if it will bend or not is to buy one. I think you'll find the issue over exaggerated.

And if it does bend, bend it back a little and return it. I don't see anything morally wrong with that, if there isn't a problem like Apple claims then you experiencing it and returning it without saying anything is fine. I don't see it coming to that though.

I wouldn't change your clothing style over a phone. Much easier to just change the phone. People I see at work that go on about skinny jeans are wearing ridiculously baggy jeans, especially in the butt (lol I'm straight but most men don't look how bad their jeans look from the back). Looks like something they got on sale at walmart. Or they are wearing cargo shorts going on about style like they know what they are talking about. Lol.

Bend it back and return it? Are you kidding with that horrible advice??

Spoke to an apple rep about this and she reassured me it was a non-issue. I asked *what if* my phone still bent. She said if it was within warranty I could get it replaced.

But still, seeing so many pics of bent iPhones makes me wary regardless. The ability to replace is the only thing that keeps me a little reassured

The VAAAAAASSSSTTT majority have no problems at all. Probably an underestimate too. Remember, the sample size here in Macrumors Foruns (as well as in other forums) is highly skewed.

These bent phones you see from time to time are still a minuscule amount. Remember, likely tens of millions have been sold by now.

If you let this non issue affect your decision, I honestly think you'll regret it. Don't think other phones don't have issues (HTC is actually weaker than iphone 6 Plus in Consumer Reports testing, Samsung Note 4 has a huge GAP next to screen and meta casing, etc...)

My 6 Plus space gray 64GB is straight as an arrow, and I've had it WITHOUT a case IN MY FRONT POCKET since 9/19.

Technically, I'd agree with you on this, except for the fact that Apple made adjustments with the iPhone 5 in response to "scuffgate" and the sleep button problem. None of which it told the general public about.

And the Space gray color of the iPhone 5s is also a direct response to the "scuffgate" of the Black/Slate iPhone 5. Scuffing and scratches on gray are harder to see. It hides better than black. Apple never copped to the reason for killing off Black/Slate but that's why.
Pure speculation.

You know who may know?

Pure speculation.
Absolutely.

And since Apple has never said anything one way or the other any thoughts anyone else may have (whether different from mine or not) is also speculation.

Your speculation is thusly as good as mine.

Nope. Its a cosmetic problem that is completely resolved by bending it back. Thats how bending works, if you bend it straight its no longer bent.

Only reason I said to return it was because you'd know the phone is too fragile for you (OP) to own.

I'm pretty much interested in buying an Iphone 6+ but I'm pretty disapointed about the bend flaw the phone have. I actually cancelled my order when I saw that huge problem. I was curious to know if any of you know if Apple spoke about correcting that problem in the next batch they'll put out of factory?

Glad you cancelled your order. Your obviously not mature or responsible enough to own a phone of this magnitude. And they announced they would replace them. What do you have to lose?

They did? As in publicly? is there a source for this? (I hate when people ask for courses, but if Apple made an announcement, I missed it)

I did search and didn't find it. Thanks for the link nonetheless, despite the rudeness that came with it.

Sorry if it was rude. I literally typed in *apple replacing bent iphones* and the first 5 links were all from credible websites.

I didn't know if you were being serious so I took it as sarcasm.

Sorry. That's not Apple publicly reporting that they are replacing iPhones. That's an online representative of the Apple Tech Support team. Until an executive comes forward and states that all bent iPhones will be replaced, it's really a hit or miss chance that you'll have your bent iPhone replaced.
Thanks for playing though. We have some lovely parting gifts for you and your attitude.

I added the word "announces" as I was looking for a specific announcement from Apple. That seems to be where the disconnect was. I did mention I hate when people ask for sources (because I do lol) :)

As was mentioned, it's not the same as an official announcement, though it's good enough for me.

Does apple plan to correct the bend problem on Iphone 6 plus?

LoL. I would bet you my first born child if I walk into Apple tomorrow with a bent iPhone they will give me another one. Until you can prove they won't replace it you have to just agree with the "support techs information "

So again prove to me they won't replace it.

According to Consumer Reports, it takes 90+ pounds to bend the 6 plus! That is a lot of pressure. They said it takes 150+ pounds to completely break the phone. Think on that for a while.

I think the contention was with Apple announcing they will replace something. I was honestly expecting something near the level of Apple offering free bumpers to iPhone 4 customers when you said announcement, hence my failure to find anything in search. That was an actual announcement.

I don't doubt they will replace phones though. They go above and beyond what most companies would do.

There are only nine fondu makers and nine fruitcakes in the world. Those eighteen items continue to get recycled and re-gifted among the population.

What bend flaw?
There isn't any problem to fix. Everything bends/breaks given enough force.

Weak point on all the bent phones is right below the volume rocker. None of them are bending where consumer reports is aiming pressure. Also no heat involved in that test - maybe if they tried charging the phone for an hour so it was nice and hot, and then aimed pressure right below the volume rocker, I'd consider this a legitimate test.

Onus of proof is on you, not me. Take a video of you purposely bending your phone and take it in to Apple. Make sure you record the interaction at the Apple store as well. Then we will both have an answer, won't we?

No no. There is a difference between malicious and unintentional damage. Many things that break under warranty can happen on purpose if done at will.

The difference I am stating is you have not found and public announcement that apple would not replace the phone. See I look at it as the innocent until proven guilty where you look at it as a doom and gloom.

Maybe Apple will never make an announcement one way or another because it shows they admit the phones are defective. 9 people in (x million) phones is hardly a epidemic.

Apple may replace the phones without an argument for the life of the phones but never admit any wrong doing.

So back to my previous comment. If people are concerned they will be stuck with a bent phone show me evidence that Apple will not replace it if it's bent. Sounds like a stalemate to me.
