I have some issue with iPhone 4, which needs to be reviewed by apple store (genius bar). I have installed iOS 5 beta 4 - will this be a problem to obtain support? Do they ask to restore to current stable version before providing support?

(phone is in 1 year guarantee)

Thanks

Update: as many have speculated, yes I have developer account.

Thanks

I would definitely restore to the current stable version to see if it fixes your issue or taking it to the Genius Bar.

They may not cover you because you're on a beta. In my opinion, however, I believe that they should service phones on a beta for a software issue, even if they're out of warranty. You're risking your device to test their OS, they should provide service.

Your best bet would be to restore down to 4.3.5.

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure you can't revert back to iOS4? Fairly confident I read that when starting the process.

most likely no, because it is beta and only devs should have it. so restore to 4.3.5
Maybe he is a dev, anyone can be one, doesn't take much if that's your thing. Working to get his apps ready for Apple's App Store they depend on so much? Eitherway it's irrelevant, doesn't mean he can't have issues.

And Apple says very clearly that no beta software should ever be installed on any device that you rely on to be useable.

It depends...

... if it's a hardware issue, there's no problem. I had mine replaced because of a faulty home button 3 days before the end of warranty, with iOS5 installed - and they commented on it, played with it (they're not allowed to have it on their own devices) and then gave me a new phone.

If it looks like software, however, they're not likely to help beyond some general advice. They're not going to shoot you, though, for taking it in and asking - it's not like it's jailbroken!

How else would a developer, do development work and test code if the device isn't usable?
