Does Everyone have the $18 Upgrade Fee? I've seen people here who have been upgrade eligible since April posting they have to pay the $18 fee.
Does everyone have to pay the fee?
I've been upgrade eligible since March with my iPhone 3GS.

Some folks have had the upgrade fee waived, though I'm not sure what the criteria are for that to happen.

I can care less about the $18
Usually if you talk to a nice rep and ask nicelly to have it removed they will.
I care about getting the early upgrade price than paying the full retail.
We'll see how it goes tommorow I guess :D

when checking with that *NEW# text message my primary line says it is waived. but the secondary line in the family plan says i have to pay it so :p win some lose some

i have the 18 $ fee....but I'm still contemplating if I'm going to upgrade at all..

My $18 fee is waived, because AT&T said I was a valuable customer...

I just got the text. Don't feel to special. It says I am a valued customer also, so I have to pay the $18 upgrade fee.... :(
Do you think when I buy it at the Apple Store, they can wave my upgrade fee?

No, the only way you're going to get the fee waived is by talking to AT&T CS.

Mine is waived...

I have a FAN discount.
Haven't gotten an upgrade since September of 2008 (iPhone 3G).
Made all payments on time.

The *NEW# said they would waive the $18 fee but when I checked on att's website it said I would have to pay the fee . . . so who knows

Well, I got also the $18 to pay, but I'll try to sweet talk the rep into waiving it. I won't sweat it if I can't. Hey it's $18 vs the fact AT&T is letting me upgrade at standard pricing after only less than a year. Won't complain.

Yep, if it doesnt work on the first call I try again and usually find a polite rep willing to help me out.

How did you all get your fee removed? My last upgrade was the 3G in July of 2008, but it doesn't say mine is waived. I assume you called CS, but what did you say when you called?
