I feel like I can see the same thing on mine. What do you guys think?

That looks a lot like mine did, and I can see the same kind of "hole" just off centered on the crown side of the seam.

I'd get it looked at for sure. ESPECIALLY if it doesn't seem splash proof because of it.

I can see some of the adhesive too. None of us should be seeing any adhesive around the glass.

So some quick follow up:

My appointment went great. Genius was awesome and the watch has to go out for repair because they didn't have a replacement in store. Not a big surprise; I'm glad it will get fixed free of charge and I wasn't nuts. 3-5 days and I can pick it up.

One funny thing - they have you take the band home with you, which I didn't think of but makes sense I guess so it's not lost in transit. But it was kinda funny to leave with just the band.

You should be able to request a brand new replacement but you might need to wait as I'd be concern if someone trying to open my brand new watch, e.g scratches.

Repair??? Its a defect and you just bought it. Should have had them ship you a new one.

The screen just needs to be reseated. I guess it doesn't hurt to ask for a replacement. I'll see what they say, but I generally don't see situations like this as a reason to get angry. They've taken care of any request I've had in the past.

Maybe I can squeeze something complimentary out of it like a band.

So update:

I gave it my best shot and asked for a gift or free apple care + or a free band for my troubles, but they wouldn't budge.

Good news is it is being replaced with a new one! They are processing the replacement now.

If this isn't normal, and it seems like it isn't - this is what I mean when I warn people that water resistance won't be the same between different watches.

These kind of tolerances vary from Watch to Watch coming off the line.

It's common in manufacturing.

Looking at the iFixIt tear down it would appear that there is a gap in the adhesive that is applied to the back of the screen.

Yup. I think that adhesive ring landed in the wrong place on my watch.

It's a good learning experience. But if refreshing Apple and UPS once for a week wasn't bad enough, thinking about doing it all over again makes me wanna go to bed!

OK, now that you've been the guinea pig and they're replacing yours I'm going to drive to my nearest Apple Store and have them check mine as well. However, my nearest store is about 3 hours away. How does the replacement work? Are they shipping it to you, and you send yours back? Or did you have to surrender your watch?

I surrendered mine, but maybe they'll let you hold onto yours if they put a hold onto your card. They said they would have given me a replacement if they had one there,so maybe you'll get lucky.

I did apple online chat. I have the exact same gap as you. Replacement will be here in 2-4 days and I just send back the watch I have now when I receive the new one. Just sent them a pic on chat. Senior asked a few questions and I was done.

Just got finished talking with both chat support and a senior advisor on the phone. After looking at my watch through pictures and looking at a coworker's watch nearby she decided mine has a manufacturing defect and she is going to speak with engineering tomorrow and setup an express replacement since I have AC+.

Man Apple Support is awesome. :apple::cool:
