I can watch a movie + browse the web + text and the same time and understand the movie better than my sister, for example. Each person has their own limitations.

I don't understand why it would bother you anyway, as long as they don't ask you what's going on all the time.

Okay well your way of watching movies sickens me.

Sounds like a healthy way to deal with it...

It's very healthy. We have a great relationship.

If you want someone to treat you one way, act that way towards others.

I couldn't imagine being with someone who told me to do this or that all the while doing those exact same things herself. Would drive me up the wall and some women like that as some sort of power towards the guy.

You completely missed my point.

It's not healthy to do something to her just because she does the same to you. If it bothers you, you talk about it, simple as that.

Basically your stance is "since she might act this way, I'm going to do the same". Very passive-aggressive...

If she minds that you text during movies but does the same, she's being a hypocrite and not being fair to you. Doing the same to her, when is something that you might not even mind otherwise, is not solving anything. Talking with her might.

Some people can pay attention to several things at once. It's called multi tasking...

Ok, let's call it tact or courtesy then. Just because I am skilled enough to post on internet forums while making love to you doesn't mean I should mix both. :p

^^ haha

To the OP, have you guy's actually talked about this issue? Maybe she has ADD? Maybe she doesn't even know how much it bugs you??

Yup. I hate it when a fantastic moment passes by - like a significant look or a little clue - and someone misses it because of neglect. It feels disrespectful not to give a story one's full attention.

Every film, even the shallow ones, have multiple layers, even if it's only just about noticing the way the characters are acted, the shots are framed, or the pace is driven by the script. A film is never just "one task," but many, and every second is precious when you can't control to rate of experience (like you can with a book).
