They usually have walk up stock of their items. How many, no-one can guess.

That’s what I plan on, and I’m getting the expensive SS Model so it should be available as I assume the cheaper sport models are the ones that usually sell out quick due to the pricepoint

You would think thst would be the case but the SS models seem to be in demand. At least according to online order estimates and users preferences on this forum.

So odd that the SS would be the popular one. I live in the SF Bay Area and all I see are aluminums. Anywho, I’m gonna take a chance tomorrow on stainless since I missed the preorder. Is 2 hours before opening good? Haven’t lined up since the iPad 2.

the SS 44mm Series 44 comes out to $800 plus some change after tax, are there really that many out there that are willing to spend that much? i thought that most people usually opted for the cheaper sport model in general

Where I live, almost every time I see someone wearing an AW, it’s the aluminum model.

Same experience here in new york, its rare to see someone wearing the SS Model, most people i see on the subway etc wear the sport model on their wrist. I just don't see many people willing to spend $800 for the 44MM Series 4 SS Model which is why i feel optimistic i can get one tomorrow morning at the store, i personally find that spending the extra money for the luxury feel the SS model provides is more than worth it and i've own an apple watch in SS for the last 2 generations.

Only if you want to be at the end of a very long line, only to be disappointed that they have run out once you get to the front of the line. You should probably be there in about an hour from now.

Based on pre orders, supply will be very tight if any at all for SS models tomorrow, but I hope you find one.

I ordered one online earlier today because of a recommendation of a co-worker. This co-worker used to be a genius at an Apple Store and mentioned that the phones/watches go to pre-order pick ups first and if a few don't pick up their phone/watch then it goes to the people in the walk-in line on a first come first served basis. Not sure why he'd give me erroneous information, but that's what he said. He mentioned years ago Apple would have extra stock for walk-ins, but Apple employees would get dibs first. Also, not sure why Apple doesn't have walk-in stock.

So will I wait in line and if I get a alu SG 44mm then cancel my order?... time will tell. If I do, I'm thinking of hitting up the store at around 6a.

When you select the store pick up are you charged at that time or when you pick up the device? If you’re charged ahead of time it would be ****** for Apple to resell your watch.

I highly doubt that, Are there really that many people lining up the morning of a workday to purchase an Apple Watch?

People who buy Apple products tend to be a little obsessive... take my word for it... I fit in this category.

I get that but i don't envision that many people going out there and spending $800 on an Apple Watch, I'm sure a large amount of folks will go out to purchase the sports model but don't see it being the case for the premium SS Model which is nearly double the price of the entry level sports model with GPS

The 44 SS sold out online in under a minute. I think it is pretty popular. I suspect it will be hard to find tomorrow.

Plus it isn’t like they make equal proportions of all models. The SS is in high demand and sold out quickest this year, in part because Apple almost certainly has few of them available for launch day.

You would think..but I'm also surprised with the willingness to spend at least 1k on a phone. Based on the low supply of the SS models (selling out online in less than 10 minutes) and the long lines stores are already seeing I think you'll be disappointed. Even so, I wish you luck if you do make the attempt.

I preordered as soon as preorders went live at 3am here in new york on preorder night and i got a Sep 28-Oct 2 delivery so i will go to a nearby store tomorrow morning here on Long Island and see if i can get one, If i can get one i'll just return the other one Apple is going to ship to me from the Preorder.

I’ve been reading some other threads and it’s pretty clear that the supplies of the SS models are severely constrained. One poster claims his local Best Buy is getting *one*. Other places are expecting to have none tomorrow having only been given the ability to order the aluminum models.

I’m going to try tomorrow. I have nothing better to do and I love going to apple stores. S
