Yes, second screenshot added to my earlier post.

But the updates to my play count are still inconsistent. At the moment it seems to be updating, but it was working earlier and then stopped updating the play count even though it continued to play through the music tracks without my changing anything, just continuing to listen to the music.

I think I'll try resetting PRAM and SMC on my computer just to see if it makes any difference. It's been quite a while since I did that.

Regarding playing stereo from Safari or other application, it's been stated here and elsewhere that only iTunes is currently updated to use recent system update. It should come latter presumably.
