Want to come over here to the states and do a little "job" cough for me? :p :D

LOL. Some photograpic work, or something more along the lines of "concept realisation"? :)

I have no school today because of "teacher development meetings". I hope think if they have not developed at this point, why do they even bother. :)

Monday will be tomorrow for me. Luckily it is a double period day of easy subjects. English, Spanish, Health, and Study Hall.

It took me fifteen years of going into someone else's office to realize that's not what I wanted to do. Nor was I made for it. When I did make an effort and find something I really enjoyed (marketing side), usually politics played into who was going to get promoted.

Now, everyday is like Saturday for me...well, almost. I'm in school so I get up and clean house and take care of the kids, etc. My wife took a great job back in December, so it's made our situation much more comfortable.

BTW I'm going to be a Jr or Sr High School English teacher.

I believe there's something out there for everyone that will make them happy. :)

Totally just kidding, children. ;)

Too late. News at 11:00.

And I think that the large large large majority of people go to jobs they don't like because they want to provide for their families and don't want to jeopardize the security they provide their family, even if their job isn't extremely secure. Jumping ship and starting another line of work isn't always feasible, so while I really respect people who put themselves at risk and try moving on to something else....something that will make their lives much happier and more fulfilling, I also respect those who go in and work at a job they don't like, because lots of people don't really have hobbies that they can turn into jobs, and so they see working not as a form of recreation or enjoyment, but as something they must do to provide for their family, or to at least lead a comfortable life after they retire, or even before that.

It's really just a different way of seeing things. It would be nice to have a job I truly enjoyed, but if it didn't make me happy, I wouldn't complain too much as long as it wasn't actually making me feel sad. I'd look for a different job in the same line of work, but I wouldn't quit it entirely.

Yeah, I flip flop on a daily basis on whether or not I lik emy job. I'm a little bit frustrated, because I need a promotion and have been told that is in the works and to hang in there. But today I feel all "screw that" and stuff. Been looking at different jobs on the web. That is what sucks about working in the defense industry for four years, I'm kind of looked down in other sectors, but have to deal with the same politicaly BS no matter where I might go. I've been doing a little bit of web development on the side, to try to learn something more, and it pays for itself and what software and hardware I need, but don't make anything else after that. I wish I could start my own company and do web development and consulting and work from my home. That would be fun.

My job now is fun, and I get left alone to do what I want, as long as the job gets done, however there is this huge BS politic factor being thrown in all the time. That drives me nuts. I'm not challeged to much and have issues with quite a few things but overall I guess I'm pleased, and I get paid okay. Not as much as I want, but okay.

Just wish I could find something that paid more money!

Today, yes. And it's really bad when "The Mondays" happen on a Tuesday. Sleep deprived and more brain dead than usual. :D

I absolutely love my job, and never have the "Mondays"

I work for the schoolboard as part of their virtual school.

We only use Macs.

We buy new ones often, so I have an iMac Core Duo, and an iMac G5 to work on.

I get paid far better than most of my friends and their summer jobs, I make my own hours as I have a key, so I come it at 7 and can leave at 2.

I can bank hours, so I can work more hours than 35 a week, and take time or days off later if I want.

Sweet, sweet job.

i am a temp. nuff said.

hah

but really, i don't hate my job itself as much as the situation i'm in. i have no loyalty to the people/position/department, because i could be gone at any minute. likewise, i am constantly looking for a "real" job. my temp job is not at all in line with what i want to do for real, so i'm not really pressing at all to be made into a permanent worker, etc.. as it is, if i had the same job, but on a permanent hire basis, there would be pros and cons. pros: i have more responsibilty and thus, more self imposed pressure to actually work. higher pay, benefits, holidays, sick leave, etc. cons: i would feel even more complacent, and leaving would be a harder thing to do in a few ways, and my search for a job in my field might trickle off. that said, i've been here so long that i'd certainly have been better off being a full time employee the whole time...

blah

no, just jet lag.. right now my clock thinks it 11:47 China time....
and top that, on flight back i wanted to start editing my photos and start making my book. only to find that my pb didn't start up and beeped 3 times, so their was somethign wrong with my ram. i just got back from apple, and my slot is bent so that has to be fixed and send it. So i'm off to start my back up...

At my old job at Target, I had a case of the Mondays for any day I worked. Now I start a summer internship next week in the IT field, so I don't think my case of the Mondays will be that bad.

as of right now i'm trying to talk to dell online to get some info about a bunch of mobos that are going to be replaced on site tomorrow. i am number 2 in the queue. ugh!

Given that I started my new job last week, I'm pleased to say that I enjoy what I do - hope that doesn't change too soon! :D

So glad I got out of what I was doing before that though - I was feeling a bit like Pete Gibbons (iGary, I assume that's where you got the thread title from?)

Yes, I certainly wish I could quit school... especially since last week I had my first GCSEs, some teachers are terrible... I feel I have more knowledge than half of them.
This school holiday has to be the most boring holiday of my simple life, I have spent way too much time sitting infront of this computer staring at the same sites an forums and working on my own, hearing the same songs, o and being online MSN is not too bad...
Sure... I would love to be out with my friends, but I am at the wrong place for that, my family is split... My dad lives down the road from half my freinds, my mom lives absolutely nowhere near any of them... Thankfully, I go my dads this Thursday - Sunday, then back school again...

Xander, please don't take this the wrong way, but you do need to get out more. Even if your friends aren't where you are, I find it difficult to believe there isn't anyone close you could hang with. Go kick a ball around or go swimming. Too much time on your own really isn't healthy, and the only way you make friends is to meet new people.

As for school, don't fret. It's not for ever.

Believe when I say: When I go to my dads, he never see's me, and yes... My mom does live too far away from any freinds, and she is planing to move to Scotland...
I hate to go off topic, but PLEASE stop using Comic Sans MS! :(

Nothing wrong with Scotland, just think of all the outdoor stuff you can do there. Like golf, mountaineering, curling, erm....cabre tossing ;)

Seriously, take it from someone who used to spend a lot of school holidays away from home, the best way to make the time pass is to get out there and fill it.

Pity... I like my fancyful font and there seems to be no rules against it... So err, hush yourself. If my mom goes north, I am staying in the middlelands with my dad, definate.

I haven't worked this last year... am sort of a student. I dread the day that I can't use "student" as an occupation and really have to work. I'll miss summer vacations, spring breaks, winter breaks, 3-day weekends, and yes, the freedom to ditch if I so desire.

I have worked retail, so I know that I'd like to get away from an hourly-paid job in the future. But w/ little to no viable skills, it doesn't seem likely. :(

But Comic Sans MS is a tool of the devil sent to earth to destroy human civilization.
