Can't say I mind my job at all... it's kinda slow at the moment, although that should change as soon as the schools get out and construction begins on a few projects I've got going on - then all hell's gonna break loose. Got some demo starting in mid-July to be followed by two - possibly three - new buildings, some new tennis courts, some relocatable classrooms, and some bathroom modernizations that will all be going strong by the end of July.

July's gonna be one hell of a monday...

I should like my job, the pay isn't bad and usually the work isn't too difficult... but I've been at the same place for over 10 years now and am extremely bored with it.

Plus I only get 10 days of paid vacation/sick time (yes, that's combined). I want to spend more time with my family, and 10 vacation days a year is not enough.

I'm also stuck in the same job position, since it's a small company and there are no better jobs for me to be promoted to.

I'd leave, but my wife is a stay-at-home mom right now. She's going back to work in August and I'm not sure what I'll decide to do after that - although I'm leaning toward freelancing while working towards starting my own home-based business. It's a bit frightening thinking about not having the security of a steady paycheck though.

Mondays are a multi-national business consipiracy. It's all been orchestrated by coorporate moguls, designed to increase production and enslave the will of the people. We should rise as one and, and, and head down to the bar to get drunk...wait a minute most of us don't need an excuse.

Pity... I like my fancyful font and there seems to be no rules against it...
Nothing personal but Comic Sans is to Fanciful what Sloppy Joes are to fine dining.

Well do you? (And I realize today isn't really Monday, but for most Americans it is the first day back after a holiday weekend.)

Did you/do you get up and go to a job you don't really like?

If so, why do you continue to go, and are you presently looking for something else? Is it the money - the "comfort" factor - benefits?

I'll share mine later, you guys go first. :)
All the above. Comfort, money....
Will only really be happy working from home independantly.

Yeah, it's always a bit of a risk to your family to do start your own business, especially when your wife is just going to start working in August, and she has no job security because of her "new worker" status.

I hate to go off topic, but PLEASE stop using Comic Sans MS! :(

I'm pretty close to just skipping over his posts. :p

The transition from "normal" MR text to Comic Sans is just too much for me on a regular basis.

I work for the Maryland State Archives scanning, cleaning, and filing documents. Mondays are just plain painful. I (obviously) work in a basement at a desk for 8 hours a day. Coming in on a Monday is hard stuff because this job is so freakin' BORING! After a cool weekend, I gotta get used to the quietness of it. Plus, this job involves enough thinking that the "Monday brain-fry" we all get causes me to make mistakes (which have to be corrected before I turn my work in). The pay makes up for it, though. $7.91 at age 15 is pretty nice, I think. :)

I don't mind Monday's.....it's the Tuesdays through Friday's that I can't stand.

After Sat, Sun I feel refreshed somewhat, and that feeling carries over to Monday...

I work for a website/webstore, and I answer questions over the phone, e-mail and ship stuff. If no one has a question, and if there is nothing to ship, I stare at the internet....all day....for 8 hours....

Thank god for Mac Rumors....can anyone suggest another site that would occupy my time? My interests are music, Macs, and cats.
