Not true again. Apple will not price match competing retailers. However, they will give you up to a 10% discount if a competing retailer has the MacBook you're looking for on sale. For example, if Best Buy has the 128GB 2018 Air on sale for $999, Apple will give you 10% off the full retail price of the same 2018 Air: $1079. Not a price match but close. This isn't a policy they advertise; you have to ask for it in store. And I think it's at their discretion.

Been in four different Apple stores here in Dallas and not a single one of them said they would price match. However, all of them did tell me about the 10% off offer. So good luck on finding an Apple store that price matches dollar for dollar. But according to this article, maybe things are changing.

I’ve never heard of price matching at the Apple store. Always offered a 10% discount if another retailer has it cheaper.
 
How can you get 10% off when there are no apple stores inna country but only a netstore? If one gets 10% off from the store, other should get it from the netstore aswell.
