Just curious to know, does the warming of the new iPad bother you guys?

I have a Macbook Pro and the only time I use it is if I'm out or if I'm downstairs in the living room, I'll have the MBP on my lap and I hate that it gets hot quickly that I just turn it off and go straight to my desktop.

So, does the iPad warming bother you guys? I played with my friend's iPad yesterday (just internet browsing) and I could feel it getting hot... So now I'm in a dilemma if I want the iPad 2 or the new iPad.

mine doesn't even warm, played poker for 8 straight hours the other day on pokerstars app.....was still freezing!!

Get the iPad 2. I think we'd all appreciate it if you did. That way you wouldn't come back here and start ANOTHER thread about why the heat bothers you and now you're going to return it.

If it runs warm to hot, you know it's genuine Apple :)

It's a tradition that's carried on for years. Super thin & shiny has always been Apples priority. Style is everything to Apple, it's all about bragging rights.

Common sense tells one that it can't be ultra skinny, made out of aluminum & run as cool as a device that's designed for longevity & cool operation. Anyone who understands electronics knows that heat is the enemy.

That said, Apple's devices last long enough to get through the three year AppleCare term. That's all any manufacturer cares about.

I honestly dont understand why people complain so much about a ever so slightly warm corner.

Now THIS, is a prime example of someone with extreme OCD.

It doesn't bother me at all because my new iPad doesn't get warm or hot no matter how long I've been using it for.

My. First iPad got really hot, my replacement stays very cool

Some are much hotter then others, my first was really warm but not the replacement.

It gets slightly warm on occasion. In all honesty, I prefer that to stone cold aluminium. Honestly.
The same with my iPhone. No biggie, it's only an issue, because it's an Apple product, 100% sure of that.
Bodes well, if that's all the haters can latch on to.

Mine only gets a bit warm if have the screen brightness up to 100% and/or if I'm playing a graphicly intense game, in all other instances such as I am writing this on it right now and I've been surfing the web for the past hour or 2 on it, it's still cool to the touch.

No, why should it.

I felt the new iPad get slightly warm one time, but it wasn't an issue. My employer issued HP laptop gets uncomfortably warm in my lap: the iPad is an ice tray compared to that machine.

Whilst I can feel a little warmth it's nothing major. So no, it doesn't bother me at all :)

I played around on one on display at best buy that had been plugged in and charging all day, and it was definetly pretty warm, but not to the point that it would bother me.

What would bother me is the worry that the heat is going to cause something on the inside to overheat.
