Firstly apologies as I don’t know where this question really belongs so thought I would ask It here as it I know there will be people who can help me here,

So, I’m looking for a product but I don’t know if it exists (I know.... sounds odd doesn’t it) but stay with me.

A few years ago I has an old laptop which I was getting rid of, so I removed the 2.5 HDD. I brought a enclosure to put it in and it connects fine to my current laptop by USB.

I also own 2 other external Hard Drives (both 3.5) which connect via USB

So in the next month or so I am going to be investing in a new MacBook Pro (can’t wait), my current laptop is garbage so I will just be getting rid but intend to again remove the HDD,

My plan was to buy another enclosure for it but then I had a thought,

Is there any kind of enclosure that will allow me to put my 2 .2.5 HDD’s and my 2 3.5 HDD’s

Now I have seen you can buy devices that contain 4 separate hard drives but they all come with the drives (which I don’t need), I am trying to minimise the amount of ports I will need in the future as I understand the MacBook only have the USB C,

Does anyone know if such a device exists or would I be better off buying a 4TB drive and selling my existing ones once I’ve transferred the data?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

There are enclosures which allow you to use multiple hard drives in a RAID (or similar) configuration, but frankly, they are expensive and bulky. It will be cheaper for you if you just get a new external drive.

This is it pretty much. Save yourself the hassle.

You know what, once I’d written that all out I realised it would just be easier for me to get a new drive, appreciate the responses though

Cheers

If you are buying a new drive try to make an SSD. Faster.
Yeah, I’m just gonna shop around, ideally SSD and wireless for me
