I just tried updating to Watch OS 7.1 on my 8 GB Series 3 Watch. The 2.6GB update file did not have enough space on the 8GB Watch. I tried off loading programs data etc....still no go. So I had to erase everything and factory reset. WTF? Had I known the update of 2.6GB on a 8GB Watch was stupid I wouldn't have done it.

Yeah there are a couple threads here already about this issue. Everyone agrees having To unpair and reset your watch just to upgrade the software is highly annoying. It annoyed me so much I went out and got a new SE to replace my S3.

It saddens me how terribly the Series 3 has handled updates when it comes to storage. I love my S3 watch, but having such a hard time with updates is quite annoying, especially when running a beta.

Really wishing I would've gotten the cellular model. The extra storage would've been so nice to have. (If I remember correctly, the S3 cellular got 16 GB of storage, right?)

Yeah the cellular model has more storage.

Going to 7.0 was the problem for me, subsequent 7.0 to 7.1 update was fine but, since my AW3 is my sleep tracking watch, I had seriously reduced what was on it in terms of apps and faces etc.

I was just telling my friend that I couldn't upgrade my watch to 7.1 because I didn't have enough space. I looked at my space usage and it didn't make sense. I said they're making it frustrating so people just go and buy a new watch.

Now... reference the first reply. lol.
