Hi Guys,

Just wanted to understand by everyone here how is the experience of word and excel on an iPad ? is editing in iPad using word and excel a smooth process or what? Last what I had read here was people were saying that word lags too much on an iPad so how's the entire experience of using a full fledged Word and Excel document in the iPad. Does it come with same ease and comfort as on a PC?
As far as how it compares to PC, it depends on your need. If you do any basic functions (no macros, arrays, etc.), it works very very well. Even for viewing files that colleagues send, it opens like that and you can easily see what they would see on the PC (editing is different).

In regards to lagging, it all comes down to device. On the iPad Air 2, it works without issue. On the iPad 4, it lags. In 6 months, the lag will be there on iPad Air 2. Say what you want, but in my experience, every app starts lagging as soon as the new iPad comes out.

That's interesting. I know the iPP may not work as well as a desktop/laptop computer for many people, but to say it has no improvement at all over the smaller iPads is contrary to my experience. Ever since I got my iPP, I've been able to work on it a lot more than I got done on my previous iPads, and I sure wish I'd had one while I was in college and graduate school.

I'm glad it would have made a difference for you, but not for me, even with the pencil and keyboard, just can't replace the good ol' mouse and general workflow on Desktop MS Word and Excel. Not bashing iPads, but it's a realization for me concerning most tablets, not just iPads, but it's fine, as I said, for me, iPads are great for editing existing work, I can do all the work in my laptop, back it up to OneDrive or som thing and then edit later on my iPad without a problem.
