Does your 3GS emit the "15KHz tone"?

Had mine exchanged today (by O2 after taking it to the apple store) as it is making the sound every time I send a text, it lasts for a whole minute until the phone auto-locks.

Unfortunately the new one is exactly the same (both also have the yellow screen issue)

This one will also be going back

last week i voted no

but just then whilst in a silent room after putting the phone into standby i heard it

its lasted about 2 seconds then stopped......

every time i put the phone into standby i hear it so i assume its always been there, but i was always in too loud an environment to hear it

Just noticed it does it after I send a text too. So both after texting and locking. Tone lasts about 10 seconds.

if i'm in the messages app(text messaging) and get or send a text message, it will humm away until the next sound. Super annoying, but most other times, it just last a few seconds.

Anyone else have a fix for this problem or do you just have to return the phone?
