The only checks I've received in recent years were from old relatives (grandparents), selling a couple gift cards to Cardpool.com, and then a mail in rebate from Ford.

Even with ATM deposit, it's still much more convenient to just snap a pic of the front and back and deposit with my smartphone.

I've heard of it, of course. Just wanting to get some more info. I'm part of credit union so I can deposit the occasional cheque at any other CU machine for free, so I guess I don't miss the convenience. Thanks.

Why can't u switch to another bank and make sure you tell them when you close your account why u did. I cash checks using my phone into my BoA account. No fee.

Well, depositing checks is something I rarely do. If I did it frequently, I would probably have switched by now.

Another hassle is that many of my online accounts with other businesses are tied to my checking account, so I'd have to log into every one of them and update my info if I switch banks.
