This thread is weird (to me that is). That's because my MacBook's battery is doing very well. And yes, it charges completely to 100% with no hanging in the 9x%.

scott523, how is your current battery capacity more than the original battery capacity? Did you do any special battery calibration when you got the Mac?

Lol I have no clue, these numbers just appeared after the first calibration I did (done by the book). When I first got it, it was showing 5150/5200mAh. But at least these numbers are a good thing. Weird but awesome. :D

I'm still shocked these numbers are still holding up after so many charge cycles.

Want to calibrate mine when I get it? :p

I just had a problem today where I went from lecture, where my battery was at 85%, down the hall to my small group and my battery dropped to 35%.

I just downloaded Coconut Battery and this is what it shows (see attached), what gives?

Since the battery is consumable, APP doesn't cover that right? I guess we'll need to purchase a new battery within less than a year of owning a MB/P?

It depends on what the folks at Apple think...if they consider the capacity loss a normal as a result of usage, they won't replace it under warranty/AppleCare. But if in their opinion it is a faulty battery that is losing capacity faster than it should (by their standards), they will replace it for you.

I see, thanks for the clarification. Man, I hope mine isn't bad.

Lols funny. I don't think the new C2D MacBook should have any battery problems. Just a little update, my battery charge capacity is now at 5568mAh. This is just insane.

There's a pattern to these numbers though. If I happen to drain my battery, the total battery capacity would go down to 54xxmAh range. Then once I charge it back up, it goes back to the 55xxmAh range

Glad to hear. Just one more week and then I can order my Macbook :D

ouch...According to iStat Pro, mine charges to 100%. 100% of 97 total percent and the other to 100% of 99 total percent.

My MacBook just pulled another 180, I decided to try to run it down to zero (from what it was saying was 100% charge) and as I was watching in Coconut, the other 50% of my mAh came back and it jumped back up to normal. I wonder what's up.

mine stops at 98%

This has been bugging me for a while. Do I need to replace the battery?

Strangely, my current capacity is higher than the original as well. But what brought me here in the first place is that my batter also isn't charging past 98%. With Coconut Battery, it shows that it stops at 97%, but with the percentage that I have always showing up on my screen, it's steadily at 98%. This is something I'm just noticing, and, as far as I know, it hasn't been that way in the past. Does this mean that there are some percentages of battery life that are permanently lost? That's kind of upsetting. I'll have to slowly watch my battery die completely. ): It's only three months old, but I suppose that isn't too bad, considering I use my laptop for a large number of hours every day and tend to keep it charging. What are some good suggestions for prolonging the battery's life? Should I only charge it when the battery has completely lost its charge? And is it best to not always have it plugged in when I'm using it, or is this a fine/better way?
