I didn't get a chance to see the ad cause it's down. I say more power to the person. Like they said the early bird gets the worm.

That person has a business mentality mindset and I appreciate that. If you didn't do the work while others have you have no rights to complain.

Just my 2 cents.

I didn't get a chance to read it either as they've taken it down but from the posts that I've read, if he wasn't in the Apple line trying to buy the entire store to resale to same customers, then I have nothing to say about this person.

Very different scenario but seemingly the same concept:

I went to a toyota dealer a while ago with my daughter to look at some camries. The guy was going through his usaul spiel and then I asked him, "hey didn't toyota conduct a recall for this model?" He replied with "yea, it was because of the floor mats." I just smiled and told my daughter lets move on. No harm, no anger and infact I laughed. I wanted to so badly ask him, so you mean to tell me that toyota recalled tons of cars and lost boat-loads of money because of floor mats?!

So if this guy wanted to make a dime on someone that had the capacity to hear, disect, rationalize and decide on the offer and go for it, that's totally up to that person.

So since it seems that the general consensus here is that this is such a great deal, who here would go through with a deal like this? Anyone?

I don't know that there's any consensus as to whether this is a great deal or not. The consensus is that it's pretty silly to get uptight about what someone else does with an item they legally purchased. If buyer and seller reach terms they're both happy with, who are we to judge them?

But to humor you, I'll give my answer: As the seller of the ipad2? Possibly, if I thought I could make enough on reselling the ipad1 to make it worthwhile. As owner of an ipad1? Possibly, if I was in a hurry and didn't want to try to maximize the selling value of my ipad1 as compared to the $200 Gazelle might offer.

Yesterday I saw a iPad 2 that might have been available at our local Target for a 16GB. Time did not allow us to see if we could snag it.

Later last night I decided to see what I might get locally for my iPad 3G/64 on the CL. I was taken by an ad that had the "sealed" iPad 2 16GB wifi for just $70 over selling price near by us. My partner is sure they would be happy with a 16GB. The seller stood in line and ended up with a color they did not want... and thought the price was fair.

We both laughed about how that seller might feel if we wanted to break the "sealed" package before we handed over the money. Both of us work in retail. Both of us have worked in retail environments that have shrink-wrap machines.

Sort of like being in photography in dealing with Leica gear. There are stories for those fans that will have the box x-rayed to be sure the contents are there... bit extreme for an iPad...

I worked for one of the smaller computer chains years ago, and we were ripped-off by those that would buy printers and bring back "unopened" printers - only to find out they were loaded with well placed bricks.. AFTER the fact...

Wait a minute...

You wouldn't be from Houston area, would ya?

Perhaps trying to swap yer iPad2 for an iPad1 + $$???

Maybe your ad not getting the traffic you'd like???

Hmmm...

I don't see too many people suggesting it's a good deal. They're just saying they have no problem with it, nor do I.

I bought an iPhone 3G for $200 back in 2008. In 2010 when the iPhone 4 came out I unlocked my 3G and sold it on Craigslist for $250. Does that make your blood boil?

The only problem one may have with that listing is that they may believe it is against Craigslist terms of service to sell something for more than the retail price, but I have looked through the TOS and see nothing of the sort.

If you don't want to pay an exorbitant amount for the iPad, then don't. Do what I'm doing and call every retailer every day to see if any are available. You should have one by the end of the week.

Everything about the new iPad 2 seems to induce rage, the anti apple fan boys come out of the woodwork to rage about it for not having a USB port or retina display, the apple fanboys rage about how apple has screwed the launch up and not made enough to fill their desire and the people who get them and sell them induce rage in seemingly everyone else :D

Steve said that 2011 was the year of iPad 2, but I think he should have said. 2011 the year of rage!

I have a sealed 16gb black one I'm currently holding on to 'till the supply dries up a bit in the UK :p

I've yet to understand why people get so enraged when they are not affected (either directly or indirectly) by the machinations of a free market. There may be a sucker born every minute, but if the two parties come away from a transaction happy, who are you to judge (unless the buyer has some obvious mental defect upon which the seller is playing).

My blood does not boil but when there is mass demand for a product and many can't get it...and the few available are jacked up price wise...it is hard for me to see any of these sellers as anything but scumbags.

I'm a scalper I guess....

in a little over ten days I employed relatives and friends and had them meet me at the apple store at 6am as I was always the first in line I had them purchase as many 3G's as I could starting from the 64Gb model down... I have made some serious cash here in the bay area... in about 10days I LOVE FREE MARKET!!!! and as of today my buyers have told me the Market has crashed its okay Im the pround owner of a 17" macbook pro and a pocket full of cash!!!

So, what was the ad about? I know what it is generally about, but what made the OP enraged?
