Yeah, the more I think about it, I was about to come back and post the exact same thing. There no way that picture is real.technocoy said:if he had been thrown overboard with that hook in it's lip the weight of the dog would have ripped the lip severely.
same goes for the concept... the weight of the animal being dragged behind the boat with the hook only in that far would rip it off...
FAKE.

I would guess that carniverous sharks will eat pretty much anything that bleeds (which is why I don't trust the picture). Beyond that, I think if people were catching killer whales with baby seals there would be as much anger. I really think that the people who are upset about this may be better off working to get strays spayed/neutered and if that doesn't work, destroyed. When there is such an overabundance dogs and cats, I am not surprised. I don't know if we have ay Chilean members here, but I think that may be a more humane ending than what many of the strays there end up with. Not saying that this is a good thing, not saying it is a bad thing, just trying to think outside the pet box.clayj said:I think the principle of what constitutes "acceptable" bait boils down to "what does the animal you're trying to catch NORMALLY eat?" Fish DO eat worms, crickets, bugs, etc., so it's more OK to use worms, crickets, bugs, etc. as bait.
Sharks do not, as a rule, eat dogs or cats. Ergo, they should not be used as bait. (Besides, dogs and cats are much higher forms of life than worms, crickets, bugs, and fish. The idea of using a live dog or cat as bait disgusts me.)
