the Sun, isnt that a TABLOID?

That has to be a fake picture, its like the "Bonsai Kitten" thing from a while back. Its just a pic of a dog with a fishing hook stuck in his jowls. An accident Im sure that isnt that uncommon.

Cmon, where is the common sense here people.

You wouldnt be reading this from the Sun and Macrumors.com, youd hear about it on a commercial from PETA.

FAKE!

It's fake.

If you WERE going to use the dog as bait, you would have to hook it through the jaw; the uppper lips are far too delicate and would rip out easily.

Second, you'd have to kill it first because it would keep swimming toward the boat.

And here we are talking about the Sun and they get attention...

FAKE.

Worse happening to our four legged friends I meant. A friend of mine started looking after a stray cat (which is now 7 years old) after she saw a group of kids tie a firework to its tail and throw it in a skip full of rubbish, then run off laughing. Makes my blood boil!!

A lot of stuff like this goes on coming up to "firework season". The things people do to animals is sickening and i'd be quite happy to let the punishment fit the crime.

ok now we've all decided that this is a fake... or whatever...

just in time for Nintendogs UK release :D

i thought it might have been fake. theres no way that hook could have stayed there without ripping. besides; whats wrong with a harness? why don't they just use that?

hm.

The cruel practice takes place on French-controlled Reunion Island in the Indian Ocean, where Prince William spent two holidays.

Why not use Prince William then?

Look at the advantages:

  • He's already there (or will be again soon)
  • One less annoying Royal parasite
  • Saves money for the taxpayers of the UK
  • Undoubtly attractive to sharks - look at all the ones circling around him already
  • Blood is blue so will be an attractive match with the blue seawater
  • Could become a tourist event (I for one might be tempted to pay to see it)
  • More fantastic publicity for the Royal Family
  • Increases the value of the remaining Royal scion.

I'm sure you will all agree with me.

I'm not an expert on shark fishing but wouldn't the hooks be needed to hook the shark? Or is there another method for "hooking" sharks?

Hey wake up.

I know this is responding to a old post but you people need to c that this is happening in the world. It was not an accident. This is not fake because the hook culd have gone in the body of the dog or on a little hook that could sustain that dog. plus the dog would lure the sharks when they fell in and that is not fake. this is a cruel thing that people do and it needs to stop like now. this IS NOT FAKE I KNOW CAUSE I LOOKED INTO THE SUBJECT.

Well I sure hope that that photo isn't real, though there is no doubt in my mind that people would do this. Now to me an animal is an animal (except for snakes, lizards, alligators, and crocodiles) I think that if an animal were to die it should die from natural purposes, not from getting slaughtered or getting drag from a boat. But if it was a human I'd be ok with most of those getting killed, they're over populated by the way. I'm not joking.

Seeing as how this forum is called "Current Events", I'm not sure if this necro is all that appropriate :p
