Don´t you think new macbook pro is uglier?

I think it's one of the ugliest looking computers I have ever seen. A total disaster. The comments about it being better for photographers earlier in the thread are totally ridiculous and seem to be more about Apple-addicts praising whatever rubbish they churn out.
I get the whole unibody construction, that is a great idea. But why stick a black screen on it? What's with the black plastic hinge? Chicklet keys = good. Black keys = why?
Also, someone said that they felt the quality of the components would be better than the Best Buy HP's. Not really, actually. No blu-ray, no 3G, no 3rd (or 4th) USB port, no HDMI out, no full size Express Card.
I am just gutted that they did this. And before the obvious replies / flames, no I don't have to buy one (which I won't) and no, I won't be buying an HP. I will stick with the somewhat acceptable MBA until they release a non-fugly MBP.

Fine that it's not your opinion, but it is mine. That is the point of this thread, to put forward an opinion.
Price increase is definitely bad, especially in the current climate. Problem is, I'm busy trying to convince all my friends to go Mac and then they release this!
I didn't say I need those features, I was pointing out that these Mac's don't have better features than HPs, as was stated earlier in the thread.
Anyhoo, as I stated, I don't plan to buy one so I guess it's all good. Just a shame, is all.
How about an early 2008 MBP, from a Mac1 firesale, or refurb?
Did they go up in price as well?
I'm also busy trying to convince all my friends to go Mac...

it's possible for me to replace the monitor for my 2year old matte macbook pro ? and then the keyboard?

Beyond any technical issues, the new case is a little longer so your screen would overlap like it has a bad overbite.
Its not the same but at least you can get the idea:
(black border screen, black keyboard).
You have ruined my imagination of the new mbp's design!! Good Job QFT. Please you guys...no more threads on this. It's a matter of opinion. If you want to join in a discussion about the new design you should contribute to the already existing threads on the subject because of a lot of good things have been said from both sides. Making a new thread is totally counter productive.

LOL!! Hey well its almost Halloween so the resurrection of the old Frankenstein style from years gone past is kind of ironic.
I think the new one looks better and I mean ALLOT better than the old one.
A few months ago I was going to the store to buy a macbook pro but when I got there and I first saw it in person, I was turned off completely. Its probably the ugliest laptop from apple I've seen, even the regular macbook next to it looked better.
Now the new redesign came and suddently, its one of the best looking laptops out there, slim and great looking, everything I wanted the old macbook pro to look like. I'm so happy that I waited
