I've rebooted my 13 Pro several times (both a 'regular' power down and a 'hard' boot) - most recently a day or two ago when I installed 15.0.2. It was at 100% when I took it off the charger at 7:00 this morning, it's now at 92%, which is about right for the amount of use so far today. Yesterday saw more usage - it was at 100% in the morning and 46% when I put it on the charger around midnight. All seems to be working properly for me.

There is no clear trigger of why the stuck battery percentage starts happening. One person found the issue happen after they installed iOS 15.0.2. I have no need to do a force hard restart, so I have not tried that yet and probably won't. I have done multiple normal shutdown and restarts with no ill affects from that. I am just glad that the issue has not happened to me.

I wonder if it has anything to do with charging to 100%. Since I have owned my 13 Pro Max, I have always been charging my phone to 85%.
Has nothing to do with charging to 100%. I'm sure that bug can happen at any given percent. Depends on when one restarts.

This happened to me today for the first time (15.0.2). I turned off wifi and got on a Facetime call, and after I ended the call I noticed the battery dropped again. Not sure what fixed it, but it's showing normal battery drain now 🤷‍♂️

Just started seeing this after doing a restart....It's pretty annoying. I hope it's fixed in 15.1. I'll put a bug report in Feedback Assistant, I suggest others do the same too.

Is there a way to get the iPhone to stop charging at 80%? Or a shortcut that alerts you?
Pretty much get a smart plug that works with homekit. I have a short cut automation set up where when the phone charges to 80%, it will tell the homekit to turn off the smart plug off.

Is the general consensus for fixing this problem to charge to 100? I’ve tried rebooting again a few times but I can only get the battery to go up but not down…I’m currently in the process of charging to 100 as I type.

1 just do your normal stuff it may degrade eventually becos the battery capacity vs market researched mAh is different
2 you can still do your save battery methods idk like 20/40-80/90% charging range etc

i do definitely recall when i used to get a new phone it took a lil time to drop from 100%.
mmm mine still take some time to drop from the charged % now i think... but it does drop.

im 'trying' to make the battery last so either slow charging from mac/getting a 5w plug tomorrow from apple becos i sold all my old phones with full box. lol

(my battery activity just got wiped away so i came back to take a look at the interesting thread rofl)
& ofc since coconut battery + iOS mAh etc is different it also shows diff % but anw not important. don't be obsessed anymore~

Me and @Boardiesboi had the same issue, restarted our devices, then battery percentage became stuck, wouldn’t go down, only way to get it to show correctly, was by restarting the phone every time, only restoring the device fixed the issue. ?‍♂️

DON’T!!!!!! restart your phone.
Hey, did u update your iphone to 15.1? Can anyone tell me whether the issue is solved?

Looks like battery is going down on 15.1…now to see if its improved the battery life after a day or two as 15.0.2 has been garbage, even on 13PM.

I upgraded to 15.1 today. The phone was 100% before and 98% after, much better than last time. I didn't rebooted my device yet, but I still having a 5% gap compared to coconutBattery who is always 5% lower than the % shows on my actual phone and my other devices have only 1-2% gap in coconut. Will see later when I reboot if I still lose 3-5% after a reboot.

The over reporting in iOS 15 seems to get less the more you use the battery. It goes from about 4% to <1%. That is my observation. I just wish Apple would fix this so that it more accurately reflected the real battery percentage. And add in the battery usage charts to include usage since full charge. I don't really understand the usefulness of the moving 3 hour SOT.

I think the hourly battery usage reporting is still useful, when it comes to monitoring any drain during the iPhone is in standby.

I do agree with about bringing back the numbers reported since full cycle. It’ll make it more easier to track the usage per cycle more easily.

Hey guys, I installed 15.1 today. I had the same issue of losing battery around 4-5% after restarting beforehand. Now, after installing 15.1 and rebooting the device. My battery was at 57% before the restart and after the restart, it's now 58%, so now it increased instead of decreasing lol. I don't know if this is a good thing or a bad thing, but at least I'm not losing battery after restarts now!

I got about 8hrs of screen on time (mixed use with social media, browsing, gaming and music, on wifi with 1 cellular bar & background refresh + privacy settings turned off) and ended with 25% battery life left between 7:30AM-11:30PM…I don’t know if that’s good for an 13 Pro Max when many others are saying they got between 12-14hrs of screen on time?

I’ve also noticed it stays on 100% for about 40 minutes of screen on time and then rapidly goes down from 100-90 within an hour. Is this normal?

This is my case too on 13PM. And I really don't know should I consider it good battery life. And one more thing. When I work I can avoid using my phone for about 7 hours. And during this time phone loses about 4% of battery even if there no screen time at all. For example, my Android phone (230$) don't have such standby drain. I can say that I have no issues with my 13PM screen time battery life, but standby drain is something that disappoints me a bit.

Today has definitely been the worst so far. I only had 3hrs of real screen on time and I’m down to 60%…in fact I used my phone yesterday more by the time I reached 60%. Im also seeing the standby drain. I watched my phone go down from 70-60 in less than an hour without doing anything. Not sure what’s going on with the dramatic changes in battery life day to day.

Looks like battery seems been improving. Today I managed to get 9hr 17 mins with 43% still remaining. Mix of video, games, safari, and other apps.
