Kinda have to if I wanna now where my battery is at.
Thought you might of restored your phone, I tried everything to fix it, only restoring my device fixed it, haven’t rebooted my phone since.

Unless you restore your device, you’ll have to reboot it every time unfortunately.

If this was a software bug, wouldn't every iphone 13 owner be affected and thus we would be seeing lots more posts? or could this be a software bug that only affects specfic models?. Those who are affected, do you all have the exact same model of phone? being same model number that has the same size memory?

Nope, some 13 pros and 13 pro max are affected so far, could be more models as well, it’s definitely software, look at the recent Apple Watch face unlock bug, not everyone was affected either. Apple fixed it with 15.2

So it doesn't sound like a widespread issue then... I wonder why only a few of us are having this problem?

Surely it's a software bug and should affect all users?

Just curious as to how you are reaching the conclusion that “Surely its a software bug”. What evidence do you have for that?

The 100% charge does take a while to come down. I was playing with my phone in bed for an hour and it stayed at 100%
When I checked in coconut battery, it suggests that the actual battery capacity is greater than the design capacity, which makes sense that the 100% didn’t drop for a while.

Also, the way Apple displays battery capacity you usually won’t see any movement until it hits 95%.

I understand what your saying BUT if it is a software bug in iOS 15, ALL iphone 13's are shipped with iOS 15 are they not? which means all iphones with iOS 15 would have the same bug in their phone but yet from what people are posting, not everyone is being affected which means if it is a software bug, a unique sequence of events must be activing the bug, wouldn't you agree?

Anything is possible in the end, you suggesting it could be faulty batteries?

Since restoring your device fixes it, makes me believe it’s a software bug, no one really knows for sure though.

Mine wasn’t moving in the 80, 70, 60, and so on, only way to get it to move, was by rebooting my device.

tried everything under the sun to fix it, only restoring my device, corrected it.

Sarcasm champ.

Oh excuse the hate/gate typo that was autocorrect on a Friday morning.

Just to make sure, although you mentioned the percentage a few times you actually mean the battery indicator itself, right? Or both?

Both 👉🔋 and % wasn’t moving at all.

Have to agree with this. I’ve had issues before where it feels like I’m the only one and it sucks. Good to call it out.
People always jump the gun early, then go quiet when they see others also having the same issue.

What kinda texts and links are you getting from them?
I have an AT&T line that I get a text every few days saying, “Thank you, So and so for paying your bill” with a short link right after it.
Don’t open the message, delete it and forget about it. No need to restart your phone.
I immediately delete it. Still reboot my phone regardless.

And how does rebooting save you from further receiving these messages? Or what are you hoping to achieve with it?

There is no way of knowing the circumstances of what is causing the issue that the @LFC2020 encountered. It could be that I have not encountered the issue because I have setup my phone differently or it could be a set of settings that are different. It could also be a corner case in the software that @LFC2020 has triggered. The more likely case is that there was some corruption in one of the OS files that raised its ugly head when the reboot occurred, hence needing a restore of the full OS to clear the corruption.

I have restarted my phones several times since I set it up. Not had any issue with the battery percentage getting stuck. In fact, I just shutdown and restarted my phone. Let's see if the issue happens to me. Right now my battery is at 60%.

That’s not how it works. Although we’re all using the same model of phones, not all configurations of hardware are the same. Similar to how heads of lettuce or medication are made in different batches or lots, it could be that a particular configuration of hardware parts from a certain factory from a certain time period is what’s causing the issue, which is why a software fix is needed to address it. I don’t believe the owners are doing anything outside of the norm.

I’m still of the belief that the percentage of people with issues is far outweighed by the number of people reading about the issues. Might be time for a poll? Haha nah probably not. Some people love to complain.
all jokes aside I do think perspective on actual numbers affected would be helpful, you get all the android fans who for some reason come to this site, they’ll read an issue like yours and come up with all the “ xxxx-gate” comments, when there probably isn’t a big a problem, but again, who knows the real number of affected users.
