Yes, like a few iphones that were not his and are probably insured are worth killing someone over:rolleyes:
Whats wrong with this guy? He probably thought he was a hero too.
He needs a new brain. They give gun permits to anyone latelly...

That's just crazy and you wonder why we need more restrictive gun laws. What's next shooting someone because they lifted some candy at a store

I don't see how this situation = the need for more gun laws. Clearly the current laws were good enough. The man got in big trouble for endangering the public. Explain how that wasn't good enough?

He had a CC license, which means he passed all the tests. This situation simply calls into question his responsibility with that license. We can't read people's minds and know when they will do something unexpected.

I don't think you can "go away" for discharging a firearm in public without hurting anyone.

I don't the specifics of the incident but it could possibly be an attempted murder charge. I am not saying it is applicable in this case but you certainly can go away for firing a gun in public without injuring somebody.

Agreed. At the minimum he should lose his CCL forever. After that, I think a heavy fine or a few months in jail are in order.

How you can you say it was good enough when he whipped out a gun and started shooting.

If there were laws prohibiting concealed weapons this would not have occurred

Wow. From what I've just read it seems that your training for pacifists is now complete.
Sounds like a lot of you fall for that line the police give "give everything to the thieves, don't stand up for yourself. Let the cops do everything, just lay down and completely become limp and wuss-like".

Ok. I'm coming out of the mall and my 3 year old daughter gets shot in the head by someone.
Here are 2 imaginary universes:

1) That person was shooting at a terrorist with a bomb. He killed my daughter but saved hundreds of lives.

2) That person recovered 2 iPhones. My daughter is dead, but the Apple store saved a tiny fraction of their daily income.

With #1 I would be sad, but I'd understand why it happend. I would possibly even consider my daughter's killer a hero.
In situation #2 I would be mad as hell and suing whoever I could think of for all that they were worth.

You're telling me you would accept #2 and be just fine with that?

Wow. Seriously. Wow. I have no words. I...really. I'm shocked by you. Some iPhones are worth a human life to you?

If having a concealed carry permit is so bad, please link to the myriad of other stories that show CCL holders behaving in a similarly appalling fashion. The overwhelming majority of CCL holders act in a responsible manner. Obviously this idiot didn't. He should loose his license and never get it back again as he has clearly shown that he is not responsible enough to carry around a gun.

This idiot operated completely outside of the laws that allow the carry of concealed weapons. There are already laws that prohibit the behavior he exhibited and he will be punished for it.

I know this isn't the place for an argument about gun rights, but you must realize that this idiot shooting a weapon in public has nothing to do with any law abiding citizen who carries a weapon to protect themselves and their families.

There are already laws against shooting at people. It makes no sense to make more laws to prohibit carry. That's like saying you can't carry a baseball bat back and forth to practice in your gym bag because you might take it out and beat somebody's head in with it. Lunacy.

And yet most of the civilized world has laws prohibiting carrying guns and have no such violence that we have in the US. If he was prohibited from carrying the gun legally in the first place then he would not have been able to use it and thus protecting innocent bystanders from his foolish and dangerous behavior.

This is not the wild west or some third world country where every citizen is in immanent danger and needs to lug around firearms. We do have a police force in this country so that people don't need to carry guns and start popping them off.

He will be punished as he should be, but that doesn't mean the laws are setup to protect me and my family from people like him as I walk down the street and he decides to use the weapon he's carrying.
