I don't even allow my wife to look at my MacBook pro funny, let alone touch it. hahaha

Seriously, I have HUGE issue with people touching it. For the Mrs, I got her a white MacBook she can do whatever she wants with, but hands off the Pro.

I don't actually mind people 'trying' to use my Mac (autolock/logout), so long as they're not touching the damn screen with their stubbly fat grubby, often greasy fingers!! I'm happy. Nothing effin' annoys me more than finger prints and smudges on a otherwise perfectly clean screen!

I get a little agitated when my wife goes near my computers. But since her PowerBook G3 died there's not much of an alternative. Hoping to have a full set of replacements for the both of us in the not too distant future...

I like allowing Windows folks to eff around with my MB. I feel like I can help people experience the "ease of use" thing that I have been talking about since my switch. One person at a time.
I find that among those who still willfully want to only be in the Windows camp is a large pool of tropophobic technophobes. You know the ones: Classic view (or whatever you call it) is turned on to preserve a ~20 year old Windows look. Its a difficult challenge.

That's why when people ask to see my iPhone I'll say yes as long as you don't touch the screen.

I feel like that too, especially since I have a 6 year old brother who sometimes just gets crazy and could easily destroy my computer.:p

Hehe sometimes, I poke the screen out of excitment on my firends MBP by accident. The colours are just so vivid! But I understand that it would annoy her so I would immediately apologize, and she would understand.

I especially hate those who do not realize their mistakes and continue acting stupid.

My worst pet peeve is traveling with my MBP. You take it out of the sleeve, place it on top of the sleeve so as not to scratch it, and then the screener fool takes it out of the bin they give you and puts ONLY the computer on the xray belt and then it goes down the rollers and gets scratched to hell. This happened to me today in Turin, Italy returning to London

You guys complain about traveling with a laptop? Try traveling with a stringed instrument!

There's no way in hell I will check my viola in the belly of the aluminum demon. It can't fit in the over head bin, so I have to buy a whole extra seat to accommodate it.

The dirty looks I get from people crack me up all the time. Checking in at the gate is just as fun with the clerk always asking me, "Who's Viola?" and I point to my case.

Security is even a bigger pain in the ass. I had this smart ass guy try and tell me he saw a man try and sneak a tommy gun past the metal detectors. I looked at him and said, "Well I don't think most people travel with stuff like that in the Godfather".

Be grateful all you guys have to do is put your laptop out on a tray. I have to open every compartment to show them there's nothing in it.

areusche - Never had that problem with my violin, flute, or saxophone =\ Hmmm..

As for people touching my notebook, I don't really care. Fingerprints can be wiped off in a second, and they're probably not going to do anything to destroy it in mere seconds. People complaining about using Macs don't bother me either, I guess I'm just not as dedicated to my computer.

It's a tool, it doesn't have feelings, so I could care less if people don't like it. I like it, that's what matters.

I hate people touching my guitars, along with my computers.

I don't like people touching my MBP either, not even my brother or my best friend. I don't know if their hands are clean I don't want my keyboard to feel greasy. When i first got my Mac, I use iKlear to polish it like every other day. And yes, I hate it when someone has to poke my screen with a pen or finger! I don't bring my Mac to work for this very reason.

i like to lick my hand and then approach the schmucks at starbucks pretending to be writing something important, and then smear my gross hand right across their screens. :)

It's when people point at your screen with pens!!

I feel like stabbing them in the neck with their own pen!!

YES!!!!!
My boss has a mbp (last gen, not the unibody) and he was showing me some things and pointing at them with a pentel mechanical pencil (one with the metal point) and he kept stabbing at the screen like he was angry at it. I cringed the entire time. It was brutal.

Im really fussy about everything i own. I have had my psp for 2 years and i still dont like other people messing with it. I absolutely hate fingerprints on anything.

I don't give a crap when someone touches my computer; of course all the people I hang out with either have a Mac or they don't touch other people's stuff.

However I do point out to people who use my computer or stand near it to never point or touch the screen.

I'm the same.

As soon as the finger touches the screen or they wear a ring or something and i hear noises of my macbook clashing with it i wrestle it out of their hands. :p

There are days when I envy you guys with your flute cases!
Haha, my violin case isn't too large either. Granted, my saxophones start to reach the point where it gets to be a nuisance, I usually only have troubles with my baritone and tenor Saxophones, my soprano and alto fit snugly wherever I feel like chucking them. I won't even try to bring my guitar anywhere. I'm surprised your viola is that much of a trouble to carry on board, aren't they about the same size as a violin? Hmmm....

I did end up shipping my French Horn a week in advance once as a fragile item. It cost quite a bit of money, but it did make things easier.

I don't generally mind people touching my MBP as long as they ask. I ask before I touch their stuff please ask before you touch mine...

omg, don't get me started...
I just punch my friends in the face as their greasy fingers move towards the fingerprinting screen.
