I got them all right but one. I guessed on the Japanese guy and knew all the others. I got Paris Hilton's title wrong because skank-ho was not a choice. I refuse to identify her as an actress-musician.

Ban-ki Moon is Korean, not Japanese.

Seeing as I have no interest in show biz, (got all but madonna wrong with the pop people) I'm pretty proud of my C, especially seeing as I don't live in the US and I don't own or watch a television.

I got an F  In my defence, I think there were a lot of US centric figures (obviously) of which I only knew the big ones.

meh, whatevvvvvar.

I got an A. (331 pts. out of 350, 94.57%) I got tripped up on Ban Ki-moon.

And somehow, incredibly, I misidentified Tony Snow as Bill Frist, although I did have him down as press secretary.

It's okay that people don't know who Nancy Pelosi is. They will. ;)

And those choices next to George Bush's picture? "Chevy Chase"??? LOL!

You scored 319 out of 350 possible points, or 91.14%

Not too bad I guess.

Hickman

I got a D minus. I have a sneaking suspicion that this is because I don't pay attention to the news and am completely apathetic about politics. :D

"You scored 260 out of 350 possible points, or 74.29%

C
You should consider not voting until you update your knowledge on contemporary issues."

I'm not too upset, as I'm not American and therefore can't vote, anyway. YAY pass!

Yikes. Well, I got an A+ (348/350), but I embarassingly misidentified Alec Baldwin as Canadian PM Stephen Harper. I didn't know what Stephen Harper looks like and I didn't realize that Alec Baldwin had put on so much weight -- I didn't recognize him.

I got an "A" because I didn't have a clue who Nancy Pelosi was. But for me being a 15 year old and not being able to vote, I think that was pretty good. Anybody else agree?
That's a great score for a fifteen year-old. You are way ahead of your peers -- and a lot of adults, apparently. ;)

Their test is a sham anyway. They say the people who shouldn't vote are those who are not educated on the issues, but their test has nothing to do with the issues. All they do is ask you to identify random politicians and actors, most of whom you can't vote for anyway.
I think this is a good point, although I suspect that there's a strong correlation between recognizing the faces of political figures and being educated about the issues (and vice versa).

I wonder what politics was like before the age of television and the internet? What if you never had the opportunity to see the candidates' faces, or see/hear them speak, and the only things you knew about candidates were their stated positions?

I got a "b", which isn't bad considering I'm not a Yank. It would be interesting to see what you lot would get on a European based quiz :)

John Kennedy would have never been elected President. The 1960 election was considered the symbol for the power of television. The debates from that election showed that appearance makes a huge difference. Nixon showed up with a 5 o clock shadow, Kennedy cleaned up. TV viewers said Kennedy won, radio said that Nixon won.

i got an F (like spanish!), but luckily, i can't vote till 2010 (unlike in spanish)

Damn Ban Ki-Moon. I got an A because of him.

And that seriously didn't look like Alec Baldwin. But I still got it right.

It'd be interesting to see everyone's score if we had to write in their name and title rather than just using mutliple choice.

B- 281 of 350, not too bad for a Swede on an American biased quiz.
And I did know who Jay Leno was, but somehow I pressed the wrong button!

A misclick cost me an A+. I knew Rumsfeld was the Secretary of Defense, but somehow clicked on "Democratic Leader"

hehe. exactly the same here.
i guessed between the two.
on our defense, they are not that different: :)

Kinda like the time Fox News showed Mark Foley as being a Democrat from Florida...
