Haha - yes, we are on the same page, no worries. :) First of all, yes, I do know of all the "lovely" ingredients in Crystal Pepsi, and secondly, notice I said I loved Crystal Pepsi - past tense! ;)

I actually used to go through several 2-liters of pop (in general, not just CP) a week, eat bags and bags of chips (Doritos in fact!), eat a ton of chocolate, pizza, etc. back in the day. However I cut all of that out of my diet about 4 years ago and have never felt better since. I started being more health-conscious, going to the gym, and eating the right types of food, cutting sugars and all that other crap out of my diet. Since then I've lost 30+ pounds, my skin has cleared up, I don't get sick anymore, and in general, I've never felt better and I've never been healthier or more fit in my entire life!

And yes, of course I have those things from time to time, but now I drink a glass of pop once a month or so - same with having some chips. And also, of course you can't avoid all those ingredients, but by limiting your intake you'll do your body wonders. As I said, everything in moderation. I eat a lot of organic foods, yes, but for me it's more the simple choices, like having fruit instead of chocolate for snacks during the day, eating fresh sandwiches on whole grain bread instead of eating at a fast food place, and things like that. Simple choices, realy.

I think diet is the most important aspect when it comes to health. I see a lot of people going to the gym, thinking they're keeping fit, but they hardly break a sweat, then go home, sit on the couch for the rest of the evening, and chow down on junk food. Garbage in, garbage out - you need to give your body the right fuel in order for it to do aything for you. So yes, I completely agree with you, sitting around doing nothing is going to lead to obesity among other complications.

I could continue to go on, but I'll finish by saying that balance is the key. I treat myself from time to time, but I am aware of what I'm doing. And since I eat healthy practically all the time, that helps. I shake my head at people who go on diets or follow these crazes like Atkin's. They don't work in the long run. I have a friend who, in an effort to try and lose weight, is having "healthy night" every Friday, where she eats healthy food instead of the usual junk. Good try, but how about eating healthy all the time (what a novel concept!) and making it not the exception, but the rule. At any rate, I don't consider myself a health nut, just health-conscious. After all, if you don't have your health, what are you left with? :cool:


I agree whole-heartedly. Used to eat out all the time and drink soda like there was no tomorrow. Over the last few years I have mostly stopped drinking soda (I drink a Pepsi now and again at work when I am tired). I also started making my lunch for work every day (most of the time it is a sandwhich, yogurt, celery sticks, carrots, orange, apple). and I go home and make dinner every night. Every once in a while I eat out now, but they are few and far between.
