Resolved Dos (or Atari ST) games in MacOS......?

Is there a way to play MSDos games in MacOS...?
Is there such an emulator, either on Intel or PowerPC.
The other question is, can MacOS read the 3.5" floppies.

Don't want Windows on my Mac (would rather sell my soul......😈)

I don't think there are any 3.5" floppy drives with USB for a Mac. Furthermore, I doubt macOS has any drivers for it. That said, MS-DOS require Windows running, so you need to either use a VM or bootcamp to play them.

Pretty sure DosBox has an intel MacOS version, however did hear it sucked badly and no Macos hasn't had support for 3.5" disks let alone a drive that could plug in for years as far as I know.

Besides DosBox there's also DosBox-X for MacOS. Too bad 86Box isn't on MacOS since it was the only one that worked with 8088MPH demo that before required real hardware.

Really wish I hadn't sold my Atari ST............😭...💾
Clearing out the loft and found some old stuff, Atari ST and PC games.....😍....I loved those 'Sierra' games.

I know of the Hatari emulator, but does that only work with downloaded games, rather than disks?

DosBox x86 works fine on my iMac M1. I use it to play Screamer Rally and Planet of Death.

Got my USB floppy drive, however as expected it doesn't show up in Finder.
When a disk was inserted it did say, unrecognised disk format.
It displays in Disk Utility, but that is all.
Doesn't show up in Terminal either.......🙁

Tried to access it through Hatari, with Floppy A, but it defaults to a HDD location.
This can be changed, but need to get the floppy drive visible to the Mac......😫

Feel it might be easier to just buy an Atari St for about £150.

Installed DOSBox, all works better than I thought.
After some reading of the readme, figured some stuff out.

I can run a demo CD of games, which run from the disk.
But full games want to install, and I get this error message.

Anyone know how to write to the config file.....?

Had a brain wave......
Copied the CD to Mac and ran the installer.....🤪

EDIT2:
Just need to figure out sound effects setting (all hiss at the minute).
Apparantly Sierra games use an Audio type which has issues in DOSBox.
Music is fine.

Another update:

The floppy drive works in MacOS, tried a Dos formatted 3.5" disk, which shows fine.
It's like the CD/DVD drive, only shows on the desktop when a disk is inserted.
