The thoughts that pop into my mind when comparing Apple to other brand products in the same category.

thank you for all of the input. I have to admit that the screen on my wifes S4 really looks great.
Is there a way to make the keyboard on the 5S any larger? I have a problem activating the correct letter sometimes and from what I have found I sometimes need to go back to the homepage and start over.

Some apps will allow you to type in landscape mode, that'll give you slightly bigger keys.

The ability to install 3rd party keyboards is a huge benefit of Android. I wish Apple would allow them.

The main strength of ios is the app ecosystem which is worlds ahead of android, but if all you do is web browsing, watch videos and emails then you're probably indeed better off with an android device for the bigger screen.

Stick with the iPhone and give it a try.

I was trying to decide on getting the S4 or the 5S and knew that the 5S was the better phone for me.

I saw an actual S4 a few days ago, a guy I work with had one now and yes, that screen is huge compared to the 5S but in the end, it still runs Androids OS and being that it is a Samsung phone, who knows how long you will have to wait to get OS updates for it. This was another reason I went with the 5S. The 5S will get updates for probably at least three years, look at the 4S as an example.

Thanks again. Hard decision because I am mainly interested in phone, text, camera and e-mail functions. I can't really see myself doing much more- I don't have the patience like some that like to live on their phones- no offense- that's just me. I may do some internet stuff- is it easy to read on the iphone?

Also, we are looking at covers. I have seem some of the otterbox series for both phones. I looked at the defender and the commuter. I was told at the store that it might be better to go with the commuter and a stick on face protector as opposed to the clear plastic on the defender. They said that it is less distorted. Opinions? Do the stick on protectors do any damage to the screen?

Also, what about the Spec Candy shell grip? Any other suggestions?

thanks

Any inputs on the covers?

Also- I want to make sure that my phone is operating properly. Is it correct that the only wat to turn it off is with the power button on the top but that it can be turned on with the home button?

Thanks
