Downgrade to 1.1.1?

I remember something about a "WTF" file when downgrading 1.x firmwares. But yeah, you should see if you can get down to 1.0.0.

The only issue with that is that the 1.0 firmware isn't capable of taking screenshots. 😛

Over Christmas time I tried to take one of my iPhones down to 1.1.3. It was a first generation model that was unlocked and running 2.2.

iTunes 8.0.2 wouldn't let me downgrade the phone even though the phone was in DFU mode.

It is possible (I think) but you need to be on a far older version of iTunes to do it.

I'm downgrading my iPod touch to 1.1.1 right now (I have a G4 Mac Mini handy and it has iTunes 7.6.1 on it... hehe) Then I'm going to jailbreak it (jailbreak.com) then I'm going to Install Erica's utilities on it and SSH in and take screenshots. Sound like a plan? Shall I post the screenshots here when I am done?

Edit: OKay, I jailbroke 1.1.1 and now I'm turning on SSH. One final step and I'll have screenshots. This brings back some old memories!

As for the thread, I am taking my time, and as of now, I am on 2.0. Later on tonight or possibly tomorrow I will get down to 1.1.4. And on to 1.0 I go....

I understand... it was fun playing with 1.1.1. The problem for me is, I can't go back further than that because the 1.0 firmware can't be downloaded for some reason.
