When Apple opens new physical stores, MacRumors posts the direct link of the wallpapers from the Apple website. Why is it that when new devices are released, we don't get the Apple website direct links of the wallpapers?

Im getting really tired of apple putting the product names in the wallpapers almost every time now. It was cool at first with the iMac but now not so much. Looking back at some of the older wallpapers from Mountain Lion and so on , there’s so much untapped potential.

I understand this is the cheap Mac so they want it to be bright and fun but big picture I’d love to see nature promotional wallpapers again.

It wouldn’t be symmetrical otherwise
It isn't symmetrical, though. I do think maybe they were trying to have an odd number so the middle would be one column, but that is silly. What does that matter? Surely whatever reason they had for it isn't as important as actually spelling out the word they were going for correctly?

I’d love it if Apple made a friendly-interface, 3D wallpaper generator with ways to deform preset shapes or import an SVG or smoothly autotrace another image outline, extrude and refine the shape. Then play with preset lights, materials and translucency, extra binding effects like syrup, glitter, ice and quickly preview the result. Then put the ray tracing hardware in recent Apple Silicon to use in rendering (over minutes) a full resolution, high-end wallpaper with physically plausible lighting.

In the AI-obsessed present, the obvious thing to do would be to generate wallpapers remotely with AI but you’d never get the degree of control and immediate feedback of building with a local 3D app.
