CLARIFICATION

Okay, I just have helped the OP via TeamViewer and the problem was more severe than we have guessed.

Somehow s/he got Safari 6 installed on his/her computer, but Safari 6 would not start, because it required OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion. How that happened, I am unsure and was flabbergasted to think it would be possible.

Anyway, since one cannot remove Safari 6 that easily, and remote control via slow internet connection is quite cumbersome, I send my Safari 5.0.5 version to him/her and all was well again.
Using a Safari Snow Leopard installer did also not work due to the installer telling me, that a newer version is already installed.

The problem is resolved for now.

Didn't want to be rude, I was just saying the guy needs help.

I agree though his initial post was all over the place, but I do understand his problem, it has nothing to do with yahoo, his Safari Browser is not working from what I read.

If he needs it to work again he should download Safari 5.x.x from Apple's Server and reinstall or Safari 6, that should also work.
I'm sorry if I come off that way.

These devices we use are such powerful tools. I just want people to stop, think and work through their problem. Education, that's the only way we get better. People are afraid to problem solve and use critical thinking skills.

People need to stop saying, I can't when there's plenty of information out there, you just have to look and think like others and that's why search engines are so helpful when having a problem.

I can see how you infer this through his/her post now. Though my main reason why I said what I said in my original post, was that it is important to do research and learn about the tools before asking for help.

Secondly, I wanted to correct him in his belief of the services Apple provides as he has clearly not even educated himself on it. If he had asked about the service before just assuming I'd come off less attacking as there is no dumb questions.

I too came here to help. I do not enjoy wasting my time on people who just assume, nor take advantage of the tools they have before them. Yes, there are learning curves with everything though it is very valuable to be able to read and communicate. I assume if you are smart enough to understand how to create an account on a forum site that you understand the basics of a search engine and that there is support information freely available before asking for help.

I do not tolerate people well when they do not first try to educate themselves on a problem before asking for help, nor put together a well thought out question when asking for help. The reason we have forums is to be able to think through our problem and logically form statements before we communicate. This is how we interact here. Our time is short and the conversation is not through face-to-face speaking hence we need to be clear, concise and logical. Without this, this type of communication will fail.

I'll apologize if I come off attacking or like an arse. I just ask that people don't waste our time by asking for help without doing a little research and providing a well thought out statement of the problem at hand.

That indeed is very odd, don't think the OP did anything wrong but you and I know you can install unsupported software, one word-Pacifist.

In essence I agree here, but not all people are the same or have troubleshooting experience.
There are also lots of people who are not interested in things like these, or are plain lazy do find out.

Just an example, how many people are there who are too lazy or uneducated to read manuals, the
easy way out is to ask someone else, I am a troubleshooter and family/friends know this, first thing
they do when they get into problems is to call me, I actually don't mind, get some free beers for it:)
