Stupidest. Idea. Ever.

This kind of self indulgent crap is exactly what will be the downfall of Apple.

Dr. Dre thugging it up is an APPLE original series??? How did that ever get green lit?

Will repeat what others have said. Fix OS X. Release a redesigned MBP that is awe inspiring. Fix the ATV and tvOS, because it sucks right now. Release 4K and/or 5K monitors. Release a version of iOS that does justice to the iPad (TextEdit, Preview, Finder).

If you have to do a TV series, do something that reflects the company's so-called values - don't give an ex-con turned billionaire free reign to rewrite and glorify his violent and criminal past based on some thug-like honor code and some convoluted notion that deep emtional ties to music is meant to justify it all. JOKE.

He apologized in public.
Apologies excuse people for what they did? I think people can reform and become better people.

And maybe he has changed, but apple where ******* silly to buy into a brand of an "ex" woman beater.

And for 2 billion dollars!! Why not just start apples own brand for probably a third of the price?

People said due to brand exposure, however apples brand is 10000× more popular than the beats brand.

I want you all to write... A theme... (Awwwwwww!!!) on... "What should be on AppleVision?"
Write the working title and a sentence or two describing your program, abomination, or other, etc. Have fun, there's no way to hold this one wrong.

bahahahahaha

Your reply is actually just an irrelevant as his.

Actually, any reply here is pretty much irrelevant...because its just a bunch of whiny Apple fanboys talking about random ****!

Cheer up!

That's a fair criticism, but I'd still prefer to read a positive irrelevant comment, than a whiney overused negative one! That's just me, though.

Why not? He's a forum member and he can say whatever he wants (assuming it's within MR forum rules). He's just expressing his opinion.
I agree. That's why I thanked him.

Apple, if you want to make content, buy Disney. They actually know how to do that.

Did you mean Pixar? Remind me of the great successes amassed by Disney...
[doublepost=1455607006][/doublepost]I remember a time when Apple was like this: ”Hmm... let's do something no one has done before. Let's not respond to demand, but instead create demand." Nowadays... "UuuH! Amazon is doing it! Let's do it too!"

Oh....ok. Oh my bad. I detected sarcasm from that statement.

I see the future is here, Apple have an assured winner for the people who buy into Apple, as they sure do love this crap.

Once I used to wait for the latest Mac update, the new monitor, Mac Pro, Pro Software. Alas no longer, I come on this site less and less and when I do I see the times are a changing. Good luck Apple, say hello goodbye to your old loyal friends, maybe one day throw us a bone or two? Actually I have a long long list of bones I wish you would throw us, but even loyal friends move on eventually. Maybe remember that, it could save you again one day.

All I know is that I don't have to reboot my atv3 every other day like the current one (apps will crash or error screen pops up). Plus it's sort of a joy to use netflix on the old atv. The UI on the new one sucks as well as some of the 1.0 apps. All in all, I feel like the new atv is faster, can do apps like Plex, but is a big downgrade UI wise. I don't even bother with Siri or universal search as the remote sits in a drawer.

Worst thing about the new Apple TV is that useless USB-C port... should allow you to hook up an external drive to it and playback files natively without having to keep a whole computer running just to access local media.

Can't you just plug it into your router?

Please, let there be a major part for Jimmy Iovine, pleeeease!
It's such a shame he didn't get a part in that Steve Jobs flick, he'd definitely nab that Oscar for best supporting role ;)

Apple really has gone down the crapper since they bought Beats. The single most stupid business decision, and yet Apple seems to treat this fail as a goldmine of talent and great opinions.

Well, at least Apple can afford being stupid, but damn they're being insufferably stupid. Which is annoying.

Zzzzzzzz.... I would prefer Apple works on making software and hardware better.
Because the people working on this (if they're even Apple employees) are the same people working on software and hardware? Or Apple can only do one thing at a time?

I'm not defending this series and my views on Eddy Cue are well known but this argument that Apple should be doing [fill in the blank] instead is so annoying. Apple has tens of thousands of non-retail employees. 99.9% of them have nothing to do with this rumored series. And that's assuming this is even a real thing. The rumor started out as original TV programming bankrolled by Apple, now it's just content marketing and Music promotion. For all we know this is something Dre is doing on his own and Apple is just funding it/hosting it on Music.

Apple is planning to use Vital Signs as a way to promote Apple Music rather than as a serious move into the television arena. According to sources who spoke to Re/code's Peter Kafka, the show is part of an effort to create video content that's designed to "extend Apple Music."

If true sounds like Apple's marketing strategy now is to throw crap on a wall and see what sticks. No other way to think about this move other than on those terms. That is unless Apple Music has already captured 100% of people that don't care for gangsta rap and gratuitously violent shows and must concentrate on that segment. But I would have thought that would have been the natural market for Apple Music and it would be the Gen X and older generation that needed wooing to the service.

Companies can get too big to the point it loses focus and gets lost. Yes, it happens all the time. GE and IBM are examples. Then they had to sell off all those departments that were not "core" to their mission and it dragged them down for a long time. Even still.

I'm not sure how the prospect of Apple making TV shows, no matter the subject, is supposed to woo me into signing up to their Music service?

True, but it might have a better chance if the show crossed multiple demographics. Almost makes me wonder if Apple is being cynical here and making a controversial show, not for people to actually watch, but for news and talk shows to cover. Older generations aghast and condemn which then attracts the younger generation to look into it.

Do you think apathy will be the reaction they are seeking? :D

So should Apple not have gone into streaming music? Is that losing focus and getting lost? Or is streaming music fine but not original content to promote it? Btw I was never a fan of Apple buying Beats, I think Jimmy Iovine has been worthless (and a bit of an embarrassment) to Apple so far and I'm not the least bit interested in this rumored series.
