When Im working on my Mac I have no need to pick up my phone to reply to messages, use apps that arent available for Mac, etc.I couldn’t seem to find any way for it to be useful. Could you share how you use it?

Not sure what he is reffering to. But Smaung's phones have been able to do this since 2019 or 2020 with Link to Windows. Prior to that it was also possible with Samsung Flow, but I don't know since when. What other operating system had this feature in 2014?
I tried this myself and it partially works. E.g. in some iPhone apps I can click-hold, and a menu pops up and I can say "copy" and that will copy all the text to be available on the Mac clipboard. I wasn't able to click-drag to select a few words.Next thing forto add is copy and paste from the mirrored iPhone to macOS
Or, you could just attach a thumb drive to your phone or iPad and transfer the files directly via the files app. That might be an easier option for you.LOL. Remember when you couldn’t even use your iPhone’s storage in place of a USB thumb drive? then it required a third-party app to store your stuff. Now it uses a whole screen mirroring feature. weird way but at least it’s possible.
Cast? Is that like airplay? Are these 3rd party apps? I know nothing about that eco system, or how seamless their implementations are.Not sure what he is reffering to. The cool part of Samsung's implementation is that in addition to the screen mirroring (what iPhone offers now) you can cast 5 more independent apps, so in total 6. You have to imagine it: each App has its own screen and control through Windows touchscreen, mouse and keyboard. This is not going to happen with iOS any soon as it effectively can't run more than one App at the same time. Of course Link to Windows offers a complete integration and not just screen mirroring.
It is not a simple cast. You can use each App un your Windows notebook via Touchscreen, keyboard and mouse, as if the Apps were running on your Windows. Before Windows 11 you could even pin the phone Apps to the windows taskbar and launch them with a click directly from within Windows. Basically you could not see whether it was a Windows App or Phone App. Not sure why that was removed with Windows 11. So the integration is very seamless.Cast? Is that like airplay? make sure you're on the same WIFI and Apple Account, have bluetooth on, and make sure you have iOS 18 on the phone and Sequoia on the Mac. I know this is obvious, but just in case you missed something.I still haven't been able to get iPhone Mirroring to work. Any suggestions?
I'd be nice to be able to use it from farther way, yes. Also what would be even nicer is for the connection time to be instant. After a while, the phone disconnects and it takes several seconds to re-connect. By that point, I'd just pick up the phone.I was a bit disappointed with the iPhone mirroring feature. In my opinion, the most useful thing about it is to be able to access your phone when it isn't next to you, but it doesn't work like that, even when connected to the same wifi network. My phone was in my room and I tried to connect on my computer just a couple of rooms away and it said it wouldn't connect because my phone wasn't within range. If I have to keep my phone right next to me in order to use mirroring, I might as well just pick up my phone.

The problem was trying to acces my account from other devices when my 2 trusted devices and my trusted number were stolen. What exactly is the horrible experience you blame Apple for getting your protected stuff stolen here?
Get you car stolen or your wallet with all IDs and Credit Cards, all the trouble involved, don’t wanna know who you would gonna blame for. some thief grabbed your stuff, possibly because you didnt pay attention. what did you expect from the Apple, and how did they disappoint you, could you please explain with at least some basic information?
The fact that you had 2FA set up probably saved your ass in that situation. Totally counterintuitive conclusion you reached there lol.
Sorry, where I said the thief unlocked my phone?…1. As someone else asked, how did they unlock your phone to access 2FA?
2. Without 2FA, the thief wouldn’t have even needed your phone; they would have only needed your password. So as far as I can tell, 2FA can only add security, not take away.
My fault?…What exactly is the horrible experience you blame Apple for getting your protected stuff stolen here?

I'm simplifying a bit, but the DMA says that Apple can't offer an OS feature without providing access to that feature to competitors. So, in theory, they'd need to create APIs that allow Microsoft the ability to allow you to cast your phone to Windows. Given the security and privacy concerns that would entail from allowing third parties complete control over your phone, it's not surprising Apple is taking it slow vs. risking up to 10% of their global revenue for not allowing access to the APIs.Doesn't work in Sweden. Why Apple? Why? What does iPhone mirroring has to do with EU rules and regulations? Google and Samsung has released AI functions in all over the world and Apple didn't even mention the timeline for EU countries.
You left it very vague but it seemed like you were saying someone stole your stuff and got into your account.Sorry, where I said the thief unlocked my phone?…
The problem was trying to access my account after that
Mmm I see, sorry about that. You left it very vague but it seemed like you were saying someone stole your stuff and got into your account.
