Dragon Age Origins: Character Creator problems

Trying to run the character creator... but I am having blank buttons, I can't find any solutions to this problem, does anyone have any idea what is going on?

What hardware, operating system, and drivers are you using? Kind of hard to diagnose with no information whatsoever.

Is there an advantage of using the DAO Character creator versus creating your character in the game? Did the CC come out before the release of the game as something to get players' interest?

It came out before release. just to build interest in the title.
