I'm surprised it does not come with Spatial Audio.
Meh. Drake’s music takes up too much space as it is.

At least this album is less of a slog than his last couple (Scorpion, Views). Which is saying something at 21 songs and 85 minutes.

Might want to do your homework as this is complete bs. There is a vocal sample that turned out to have a background track of r.kelly, you can't even hear it. Legally they hat to mention him, that's it. No co-writing or any other cooperation. Just a cover-our-ass kind of thing...
Good context. I do think they should have just not credited him and let it hang.. like you say his song in the background is barely audible. Like, I dare you to sue, Kelz. Good luck with that.

Or, given 40’s love for super-processed, thinned out samples they could likely have used a spectral editor to remove the background melody.

think about the musical taste of the average person and then remember that half of people have worse taste than that. This is Drake's demographic.

Whenever I see "streaming records" being broken, I simply roll my eyes. It was one thing when a band or act was good enough to got people to fork over 10 or 15 bucks a pop for a real record. It's another when it's streaming.

I always think of Drake as a joke musician, had no idea he was legitimately this popular. Huh.
No, he's still a joke musician (he was a freakin' childhood actor on a Nickelodeon show for crying out loud; how street can he really be?). It's just that most people either don't know the difference between an actual artist and a fake one, or don't care.

These kind of opinions will be very cringe-worthy when you grow up and realize that people have different tastes than you and that's ok.

And here I thought this guy just made cakes. My wife likes Ring Dings, and I'm a Funny Bone man myself.

The sort of misogyny represented by this individuals work is not representative of a company that takes diversity and empowerment of women seriously.

Apple has proven in the past it will de platform individuals and works that do not meet a certain code of conduct and acceptability. Since Apple is more than willing to make money off this content, one must assume the corporation gives its approval.

So true. I saw it, and at first thought it was a parody. It is not. How this is acceptable in this day and age is totally beyond me. It's indefensible.

no one is forcing you to listen to the CD. Go listen to the music you like and stop trying to ruin stuff other people like just because you disagree with it.

Drake's latest album "Certified Lover Boy" is Apple Music's most-streamed album in 24 hours in the services' history, Apple revealed to Billboard over the weekend.

drake-certified-lover-boy.jpg

The album was released at midnight EST on Friday, September 3, and is the sixth studio album from the artist. It features a number of prominent rappers, including Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, Future, Rick Ross, and Lil Baby.

"Certified Lover Boy" is a 21-track album and features Apple's pregnant woman emojis on its album cover. The cover notes describe the album as "a combination of toxic masculinity and acceptance of truth which is inevitably heartbreaking," and is executive produced by Drake, Noah “40” Shebib, Oliver El-Khatib and Noel Cadastre.

The album had already reportedly broke the record for the most-streamed album in 2021 in under 12 hours on the service.

The new record comes just three days after Kanye West's "Donda" broke Apple Music's day-one streams record for 2021 with 60 million plays in the United States.

So me. being a fan of Hip Hop I was very interested in listening to the album for one simple reason, THE ISSUES DRAKE AND KANYE WEST HAVE WITH ONE ANOTHER.

So me being a fan of Hip Hop, I did listen to the album for one simple fact, I WANTED TO HEAR THE COMPETITION KANYE WEST HAS. Maybe people are well aware of the issues one artist has with another and I believe that is one of the the main reason why it did the numbers it did. Im sticking with DONDA!

The problem here, is that a rapper has problems if they have to clear their funk via diss tracks against someone else to make money.

I mean, the Beastie Boys had fun in their raps, sampled themselves, and caused other artists to be discovered without singling out a single artist and dissing them on a track. Now, that isn't to say that they didn't diss a genre of rap, because they did, but they never singled out a single person. To do that is petty.

And trust me: these two are definitely not hip hop. They are far from it.

BL.

Man alive. I switched from Spotify to Apple Music a few weeks ago. I don't know how many times I can tell AM I'm not into Hip Hop, yet every day, on the Home Screen, piles of recommendations, and Drake Drake Drake.

Point. Totally. Missed.

I'm not in favor of telling anyone to do or not do ANYTHING. If you want to listen to Drake's music, that's fine. I think it should be on Apple music.

Along with the Parlor app.

Apple likes to pick and chose the who/what/where of content. Apple also likes to grandstand as far as being a Progressive, human right's oriented company.

So it's the hypocrisy that's BS. I'm all for Drake's crappy music (I think Tupac and Ice Cube are superior artists by a million miles, but that's personal taste) if that's what you want to listen to. I'm also for legalized drugs, on demand abortion, little or no gun control, love is love, so marry or sleep with who you want, so long as it's an adult, 18 yr old drinking age, and a whole host of other ideas that lead to adults living their lives as they see fit.

I'm all about leaving people alone and being left alone. So long as your habit (drinking, smoking, drugging, etc) doesn't cost me time or money. Do you. Apple doesn't see the world that way, unless it's slave labor in China, or kow towing to the Russians.

And of all the above listed issues, the only one that interests me personally is gun control. I plan on smoking some weed when I retire from my current job in a few years (they drug test, even though I qualify for a med card for a medical condition) as that's legal in a neighboring state now.

The point being, Apple wants to play ref when it suits them. By one set of Apple standards, this is garbage. By another set, it's acceptable.

Of course we ALL know Apple's real standard, and that's the Rubel, Yuan, Euro, or Dollar standard.

One day, Apple's IP will be sold off to Amazon or Virgin, or another giant mega company. Everyone will piss and moan about it. Tim will be considered the devil some day, and the company that will take it's place has probably all ready been hatched in someone's garage someplace. Probably because a bunch of engineers and product designers were stuck home during the 'Rona.

Watching Apple these days is like watching the end of the Roman Empire. It just go too big....

I cant understand why people give a **** about either. Both are not right in the head and ones known for literally going off his meds. The fact that ramblings of a mentally unstable man are considered "genius" just shows how trash popular music is today. They aren't even anything deep and meaningful lyrics, they are **** off the cuff observation that when you think longer on them make you wonder WTF meds he WASNT taking to think them up. It's just dumb **** for the dumb masses.

How many of those pregnant emoji women are going to get child support from Drake?
How many of the emoji babies will ever know who their father is?
ZERO/ZERO

Dude is lowlife trash. Stop glorifying pump-and-dump deadbeat-dad absentee-father "culture", Rapple.

Must admit I'm not a fan of Drake .... to me, his music sounds like some dude talking through a vuvuzela while his mate hits plastic buckets with wooden spoons.
Garbage from an artist with a ghost writer his entire career. Odd this article doesn't even mention the number of streams but expects us to believe it broke 60 million in 12 hrs?

One lyric is hilarious as he mentions his boy wants to get at you (referring to another man) ... I'm like ooh Drake is on this new tip then lol.

Toronto once again on the charts but I'm not proud/nor a fan.
