I like what she did regarding paying artists for their work during Apple's free promotional campaign. But that's the first time I've heard her music. That bit where she sings "done" sounds so bad. The rest of it was okay but that bit was too grating for me. It doesn't fit at all.

For its target audience (which is not the sorrowful MR average poster) it's a perfect ad.
I think the problem is that it is a very generic ad, one that could have been produced for any number of companies. There's nothing very Apple-like about it, but I suppose today's Apple has very little 'Apple' left in it. Regardless of what you think of Apple's products, I think they should have never moved marketing in-house because their ads seem pretty lacklustre these past couple of years, certainly nothing memorable like the old Mac vs PC series or Think Different.

The smugness of those ads built the bitter divisions that still exist today.

They also don't really apply anymore...

They were clever, funny and well thought-out. Anyone that sees smugness is only seeing them from a pessimistic viewpoint.

I particularly liked the animated Christmas ones...

IMHO...Sad..Music is not what it used to be.....

Agreed, but only if you listen to the mainstream broadcasts. If you search out alternative sources, there's a lot of great music being made out there.

Agreed. There is a lot of great music being made. More good music is available than at any time in history. More bad music is also available than at any time in history. Those two facts are not unrelated.

this month I gave apple music a second shot (because I bought an apple watch)

it is not good at all compared to spotify.

Sorry I would call myself an apple fanboy but apple music doesn't even offer 320 kbps,I can clearly hear a loss of soundquality compared to sportify.

The interface is also more laggy and unresponsive compared to spotify.

Its a pity that spotify doesn't offer an app for the watch.

I'm sure his $100M fortune will cushion the blow from your disapproval.

Where do I even begin ... when does an entertainer's $$$ value have anything to do with great Apple products? Didn't you learn anything from the U2 branded Apple products or the "Free" U2 album Apple released several years ago? I couldn't give a rat's tail about Drake, Taylor Swift, etc. I'm talking about Apple using any entertainer to sell their products. I thought that would be painfully obvious on an Apple-watching website like Macrumors. /:-\

I can't stand both Drake and Swift, but I have to admit. That was funny. Good ad

You realise that sentence has been uttered by countless people throughout the history of music? He's not to my taste either, but that's the good thing about the being lucky enough to live in the present - we have immediate access to almost all music ever created. Isn't it incredible?

Yeah, but this time we are right. Our generation of music was the last "real" music. /sarcasm.

What new ideas did Steve Jobs have after multi touch?
Where did I mention Steve Jobs in my posting ?
Anyway in 2011 iCloud (replacing MobileMe), iTunes Match and itunes in the cloud where introduced by him.

Who's Drake?

One of the highest selling artists of this generation. It's a millennial thing. We tend to know your music as well because we tend to have a broader palette in taste...but we don't hold it against you for not knowing ours.
