On the iPad version of the Apple Store app, it references things like 'enhanced for iPad Pro and the Apple Pencil' which of course is not true of the Pocket app.

So even though this is free, I feel a bit cheated, you know? Apple is making out as though the iPad version is available for free.

Attention: there are seperate iPhone and iPad versions and the redeem code only works once. So you have to choose for which device you want a free version.

Correction: the redeem code is only valid for the iPhone version.

Canada here, the green button does not open the App Store. It doesn't work.

Well guess what? The Apple Store no longer works for anyone running iOS 8 or less. How am I supposed to shop for products on my iPhone 4?
Now they are forcing users to buy a new phone else they can't shop for a new computer. Insane

Whoops wasted my code on the iPhone version. *asks wife to borrow her iPad for a minute, copies her code* ;)

Is it available in other countries? Let me know and I'll update the post :)
It's available in Australia. Though it was underneath "Workshops and Events", the third swipe from a heading reading "Get it any way you want" about pickup of orders from any Apple store; 2nd swipe was about the Apple Watch, the third the Procreate giveaway.

On my iPad I clicked on App store, searched for Procreate, clicked on download. It downloaded, no problem. Checked that Procreate runs ok. Everything fine. Why are there problems for some. BTW I am in Ireland and have a third gen iPad (retina display).

Did you redeem the code through iTunes?

I have contacted Apple Support about this and they escalated it, waiting to hear back from them. They keep saying the code is just for the Pocket version.

You would think Apple would let you access the Apple Store to sell you a new phone. ;)

I can NOT get the Apple Store App to redirect to the App store to download this. I've tried un/reinstalling Apple Store, Signing out/in, turing phone off/on. Anyone else having this issue?

I read someone else having that issue somewhere, and it was iTunes being turned off in the Restrictions. Apparently the Apple Store redirects to the iTunes app which instantly redirects to the App Store app. If you have iTunes restriction turned on, it doesn't work.
Try turning off the iTunes restriction and trying again?
