Many thanks for the picture, I was unsure about the new mail from earlier pictures

my main concern was not being able to see the mailbox's at the left, but if it looks like the screenshot I am happy

Archive feature?

Is there an easy to use archive feature built into the new mail app for Lion? I have to use a PC at work, and I'm using Outlook 2007. The thing I like is that I can create a separate local mail box that's available to me within the mail client that I can drag old email messages from my Exchange account to so I can refer back to them quickly when needed. That would be a killer feature for me if that was available on the new mail app.

The strange thing is that searching using Spotlight works better - but still misses a lot of mails. Search in the Mail client only finds messages that I got after installing Lion (on top of SL) - messages that were in my mailbox before the install of Lion are simply ignored. Is that a clue as to what might be going on and how to fix it, for someone?

You could try re-indexing your drive.

I'm opposite the OP. I only want the new mail app but cannot upgrade because the Jobs decided to leave the Core Duo folks hanging.

Personally, I actually use mail after installing the GM.

I agree it is cleaner and more functional. It saved me a lot of deleting when I got an invited to google + and got hundreds of comment emails. Because of threads I had to delete 2 threads instead of 100+ emails.

Edit: plus it works great in full screen

It's an email application. Who cares? Get an app that works for you, if its mail.app, great. If not, find something else and move on.
