Just out of curiosity, If you had the chance to create the next line-up of MacBook Pro's...what would you put in it?

Me:
Latest Intel with NVIDIA Graphics
LightPeak
Thinner
Lighter
...and I don't know what else. Just those for me.
Oh! and new design

999999999999TB SSD Hardrive
99core 99.99Ghz processor
999TB's of ram
9000x3000 display OMLED
Nvidia graphics card with 999mb of video ram.

I want a hologram screen, carbon fiber chassis (colored please, not the weaver'd *****), proximity sensor so it automatically opens up and powers on when I get near it and a damn beer opener/holder.

A 3d (antiglare) screen in the 13" form factor with a resolution of 1920x1200 (with resolution dependency of course).
Two blade-style SSD's of 2TB each in a RAID 0 setup.
3.5GHz Intel i7.
NVidia 330M 512MB.
Expresscard slot+SD card slot.
The same thickness of the current 13" MBA.
Touch screen.
Oh and a cooling system to keep the CPU and GPU under 110ºF.

Pretty realistic :D:D:rolleyes:

WTF do you want with such a slow CPU and GPU?
There should be at least a couple of Xeons inside the super thin and light MBP and a Quadro or two.

Anyway, a dream MBP would be a stable one like in the old PPC days. My G4 iBook was still the best notebook I ever owned, it could take punches (a dozen or so) and would still work and the OS was much more stable back then.
As to the specs: quad core, a lot of fast RAM and a big SSD and good DCC GPU. And an eSATA port.

A *****.

Just kidding. :D

I think what I really want is a MacBook Air Pro.

Seriously, I know it's conflicting requests - but since we're dreaming, I'd like the 11" MBA form factor, capable of 8GB of memory, 256GB+ of storage, and an i7 inside. And maybe a bump in the screen resolution.

kurumi, can you make the picture a little bit bigger?! it's so small that I can't see it!

Could you please use TIMG tags instead of IMG tags? Just add a "T" in front of the IMG (> TIMG) and /IMG (> /TIMG) tag. Thanks.

Btw, you can edit your posts via the

button, scroll to the far right and look at the bottom of your post.

So you want
gpc_core_memory_page_2.jpg
? :p

I do like the screen thickness if that helps...

How about WATERPROOF??? So I no longer have to read these thread titles:

My cat spilled beer on my MBP

Water bottle fell on MBP during earthquake

Ghost knocked OJ bottle over on my MBP

Spilled tea on my MBP while practicing telekinesis

So in other words you want a Macbook Air... :p

What I want:
- 17" 1920x1200 screen
- 2.2GHz i7 quad CPU
- AMD 6830M GPU
- 2x 128GB blade SSD
- 1000 GB 7200rpm HDD
- USB 3 and/or LightPeak

Don't care about thickness, weight, battery life (as long as it's above 6hrs claimed) or optical drive. Better just to get an external blu-ray burner.

1650x1080 IPS display on the 15" as standard, matte as no cost option
Express card 34 slot
3 USB3.0/esata combo ports
Additional cooling
2nd HDD
A GPU befitting the laptop's price
The 25w i7 quad core (the 45w is unrealistic)

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_2_1 like Mac OS X; nb-no) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8C148 Safari/6533.18.5)

Serious dream

13"
Same res as air
ips screen
Discrete graphics
Lighter
Sandy bridge i5
Matt option
