Redesign the chassis so that the front doesn't have a sharp metal edge.
Also better graphics card, maybe a GTS 485M or something. The processor (if I'm being realistic) would be a faster dual core i7 than a slower quad. The quad core mobile processors are still not really that quick in terms of clock speed, also they use more power. (good for video encoding though, I guess).

Also more USB ports.

High res display
Blu ray support for external drives
Small bezel around the screen as possible
MBA profile with stronger hinges
Mechanism to mount a SuperDrive on the back of the machine like it was meant to be attached on the back of the screen (call me odd but I would rather move the SD externally so I can upgrade or replace defective drives when needed)

Being realistic:

2.3GHz 2720qm Sandy Bridge Quad-Core processor
8GB RAM standard (most allowed by Sandy Bridge mobile)
Dual 512GB Sandforce Blade SSD RAID-0

1GB nVidia discrete GPU
15" 1680x1050 IPS display
Thinness of MacBook Air

Mac OS X Lion

That would make a pretty sweet MacBook Pro, and yes, the technology is currently possible.

Quad i9 Processors
320GB ram
2TB SSD Blade
Quad 5970X2 Video Cards

No thanks, I like my 16:10 ratio.
13" 1680x1050 though... heck yes. (with resolution independence of course)

Mmmmm, first of all I would have the design of the motherboard more along the lines of desktop mobos, IE EASILY upgradable proc, GPU etc...

Hardware:
i7 2600k
16GB 2000MHz DDR3
2TB SSD with some nice speed behind it (unlike the stock crap Apple uses now)
2GB NVIDIA 580GTX
14" Retina Display
Water Cooling
High Efficiency Solar Panel Charger on the lid
16Hr Max Load Run time

Software/Hardware:
Wireless, low latency transmission of video output to monitors (at least the built-in capability.
Air Gestures through the camera (3MP)
A small hi-res, high-lumens projector, for those times the screen is not enough.

Software:
FREE UPGRADES TILL OSX 11! (I realize they would simply make the next upgrade 11 lol)

Price:
$1500 :D

Can we make a 17" that can fold into the size of a snickers bar?... We may have to drop the optical drive

As long as it has a bottle opener and a place for a beer I'm all for it. But then you know some PC faawker manufacturer is going to come out with something that holds two beers in a less inferior way.

Inferior=bad. Therefore less inferior=less bad. You think that PC manufacturers are going to outdo Apples Magic Beer Holder with multitouch and a clickable surface? I think not! ;)

I'd like a MacBook Pro with a good quality build with very good quality control, for the price that you pay I would expect a standard 3 year warranty. Why should we have to buy APPLECARE on a new machine, 4 out of 4 Macs I bought last year had serious hardware failures within 6 months of purchase [If I end up keeping any of them I have to buy Applecare before the initial 1yr wnty expires, old Macs lasted forever new Macs really are junk comparatively].

I'd like a "MAC THAT IS BUILT TO LAST"

Specwise : I'd like to be able to use 16gb ram and give me provision 4 two internal hard drives - Oh and a real graphics card would be nice....

My dream (simple) MBP;

> Instant-on and fast boot like in the MacB Air.
I spend a lot of time booting and rebooting between partitions, an instant on and a fast boot would be ideal for me.

> Graphics card to run latest games and design software
I've got a 2009 MacB Pro with 9400M which is atrocious, I have to run games in smaller res.

And there you go. All I need.
I'm totally fine with my Core 2 Duo at 2.26ghz, I don't see any speed issues. I mean; if they can give it a boost; great. If they can't; I can live without it.

I was also hoping for something to make data transfer between hard drives, and something so speed up iTunes sync!
