Exclusive content is bad. No one wants to have a subscription to Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon's music service, Tidal, and whatever else pops up out there just to hear all the music they like.
Guess who started this trend

I'm old but still follow all music pretty closely and I've never heard of this person. Even though I do enjoy rap/hip hop, I've just got a suspicion that I won't be listening to this artist.

No idea who that is . Really don't feel in missing anything with these Apple Music exclusives

It's for a week. Society will endure, the same as it does when Game of Thrones is only on HBO.

I have no idea who she is. Is she good?

She's brand new but she gets a lot of buzz in the Chicago area, similar to back when there was buzz about this rapper from Detroit who ended up being Eminem.

"We Gon Ride" and we also gon not spell gud and also legitimate all da bad spells for Uhmericas yooth.

Ah.... yeah, i see. You're making fun of urban street slang and implying by proxy that blacks are stupid and dragging down America's otherwise wonderfully competitive children. Classy. Next I'll refer you to the word casserole found in many country albums, and then send you a brochure to the Creation Museum.

I'm sorry. How is a comparison to Eminem relevant ? Or is it just that they are both rappers.

Must be all about the money that changed hands. Doubt any musician who's trying to spread their content as much as possible to become more known would sign up to exclusivity in such a fragmented market.

As per usual, the pirates snicker when they hear about exclusivity and those of us who'd rather own the album legally roll their eyes (I don't know her, but it's not hard to see that this BS is happening more and more)

Not gonna rent music, pass here and with any other future exclusive deals.

EDIT: I eat my words, this is timed exclusive. Still weird, but fine with me.

Glassed Silver:mac

"exclusive" makes me always laugh. it shows that those exes running a label / studio still havent gotten a clue about the changed environment and that this crap is only pushing people to download stuff illegally again. no ones gonna pay for multiple streaming services that do the same thing

Taking into account the artists who's music has debuted exclusively on Apple Music so far, I've got no worries that I'll miss out on any of my favourite artists by not subscribing to the service. :D

Well, those artists might just be the icebreakers for the others to come. Depends on the success of such promotions for both the streaming services and record labels.

I kept hearing this tune being played from my 18 year-old son's bedroom a few weeks back and it got stuck in my head (as these things do). When I asked him what it was, he said "It's called 'Body' by Dreezy!".

It's a decent enough pop-ish tune, I guess. Good move by Apple, though as Dreezy and Jeremih are obviously being listened to by a big youth audience...

As I pretty clearly explained in the post, they both had a lot of local buzz and some light buzz in other areas before they suddenly released a debut album. She's experiencing the same buzz level he did and he made it huge, so she might as well. Music type is irrelevant.

Looks like somebody who that 12 year old daughter I don't have might enjoy listening to.

Meh both are the same genre regardless... pop. Still don't see your point, most popular artists experience a massive buzz. Wish I knew why/how because I could make a looot of money if I knew.

Ah.... yeah, I see. You're making fun of me because you assumed incorrectly that I was making fun of urban street slang to imply by proxy that all blacks are stupid and dragging down America's otherwise wonderfully competitive children. And of course, you responded, in kind, that I was some sort of doughy, country music loving Creationist.

Or did you stop and think for a second that maybe it was a comment on how this type of language has become acceptable in our society, everywhere? No, of course you didn't, because it was easier to arrive at an emotional response because that's what we all see.

I don't want anyone's children growing up with this garbage clipped english whether it's urban or text-speak. Do you want America's children to fail? Maybe so since you cheekily responded with the phrase "America's otherwise wonderfully competitive children".

Maybe they would be more competitive with clipped or urban English when they grow up to be doctor's and lawyers?

Spotify users complaining ^

Exclusive content is what makes a service better than others.

Apple Music can have exclusive rights to my debut too... Juuuuust as soon as I write it... And for a small $$ price...

Fair enough. Though we cannot ignore the elephant in the room, I thought that a big part of eminems popularity was the fact that he was a white rapper, I should say unique. Though I could be very mistaken, being from Europe, and one should not believe everything you read or see on movies.

Either way, I'll look her up and listen to some tunes. Can't judge until you try

Apple going to have my album on Apple Music exclusive I am a male version of Taylor Swift all my songs are about my relationships and becoming the next Justin Bieber.

That makes no sense at all. If Spotify, and apple both have exclusives, the customer is the looser unless they subscribe to both. It's like Xbox / PS exclusives, you need both sets of hardware to enjoy the games that arw releaesed.

Rap music, the current crap!
Like E.D.M that only Hipsters Listen
And watch todays M.T.V

Ah, we see. Your the final arbiter of musical taste and implied social criticism. Thank goodness there's such a luminous thinker in our midst.
