like the "fanboys" are racing to post everything and anything negative about other phones?

The hypocricy and interest level is silly.

what do you expect? it's a freaking macrumor forum. damn Droid fanboys are the ones coming here with BS.

Wow.. ANOTHER Android related thread started by yet ANOTHER insecure iPhone user? Grow the F up.

You people complain that "This is an iPhone forum! Why are we talking about Android?!" -- Yet most of the threads are started by iPhone owners.

Makes me embarassed to be associated with you immature imbeciles.

This doesn't apply to the RATIONAL Mac users out there (Although that crowd seems to be getting smaller by the week).

Droid
Droid Eris
Droid Incredible
Droid X
Droid 2
Droid Pro

Yikes. Kinda diluting the "Droid" name, don't you think? Then again, Verizon probably paid LucasFilm so much to use the "Droid" name that they need to get their money's worth.

Not to mention all the other Android-based phones that I hear people refer to as "Droid" phones as well.

just a matter of time before we get the 8800, 8810, 8820 models like bb.

I emailed Foxnews asking why this antenna issue hadn't made their front page yet... still waiting.

This. +1000

Good grief, people. When Motorola and/or the Droid 2 reach the level of popularity and success of Apple and the iPhone, then you can rightfully act all incredulous over the lack of publicity about their signal issues. Until then, it just looks ridiculous.

Can you clear up the Droid 2's antenna issues for me. I still don't get it.

There have been a bunch of articles on this now, with users commenting on them saying they have the problem as well. I'm not going to go find every article for you but here is a link to two.

http://www.engadget.com/2010/08/13/droid-2-review/

Engadget experienced the problem in there review, and the comments on mobile crunch are in line with what the story says. Look around and you will find more :)

That's why you never make fun of anyone, it is Karma and it always comes around.

Let's face it the more technology MFG's dump into these devices the more apparent issues will surface, in time they will all get fixed but can't we all just be Nice

again - who cares. Does the droid having an issue help or hinder your iPhone experience?

Why such interest in devices you and others don't own on here? I'm all for the freedom of expression - but these threads belong in the GENERAL forum, not the iPhone forum. They have nothing to do with the iPhone.

Honestly, I don't really care that much. I emailed Foxnews (expecting nothing to come of it) for the simple reason that the media is so willing to jump all over one company but will probably make little or no mention of this because of who that company is. They are supposed to be the fair and balanced ones. I think the iPhone issue got more attention then it deserved, but if that is what they are going to do then it should be applied to any manufacturer with a popular phone. That was my motivation, and I never revealed the exact content of my email.

I also don't remember ever posting a list of what devices I own. I happen to agree with you that these threads need to stay out of the iPhone forum, but that is no reason to not respond to them until a mod can move them.

here's a tip for you: life's not fair. scandal runs on the first page, retractions on the back. learn to deal.

I agree.

Yet they have _everything_ to do with fragile fanboy's ego.

That's the reason threads like this are created. It's an effort to reduce the fanboy insecurity issues by proving (in their minds) that they chose the right phone, and belong to the right "club".

Sadly, now that Apples "magical & revolutionary" devices have been revealed as "average at best" via Apple's "They All Do It Campaign" it's even more important to verbally attack the competition.

Did Motorola claim there was no issue? Did they email users that there was no issue and to hold their Droid differently?

Apple got the attention it did (mostly) because of how they handled the situation. Not because of the problem itself. THAT'S why the coverage is different. It's also different because that story is "stale" and uninteresting now. The only thing that would ignite another press fury would be a design change or new iPhone before the typical cycle Apple has kept to.

There's won't be an "antennagate" for other manufacturers this "round." Despite some people on here who want it to happen ever so much

On top of that the iPhone 4 was the only one that you could kill the signal with just touching the phone with a single finger. The other phones require a fair amount of work. IP4 1 finger. I also think their is a video on youtube of some one killing the signal on the iPhone4 with just a paper clip.

They all have problems but iPhone4 is by far the worse and then apple tried to cover it up. Apple got caught in its PR BS yet again.

Seriously? I thought everything about life was fair and the news was actually fair and balanced ..

I didn't realize that expressing my opinion to a news organization was such a bad thing. I sincerely apologize to everyone in this thread for all the harm I have obviously done.

Alternatively more people could speak up and put there opinions out there.

Constant Random WiFi Disconnects

Sounds like the iPad (and my iPhone but I am not entirely sure it's not my wireless routers fault).

It sure seems like the market is getting flooded with these things. All have fairly substantial issues. Battery life, screen issues, antenna issues, etc. ,etc. I guess they are going quantity over quality for now.

Lets get as many of these out there as possible to try and compete

Apparently the Droid 2 is suffering from signal issues of its own. How embarrassing for Motorola after taking out that big ad for the Droid X making fun of Apple. So it would appear that not even a seasoned device manufacturer like Motorola is not immune either...

Motorola Droid 2 May Suffer Ironic Signal Problems

The writer of that article is an idiot. He linked to a thread as proof which has had 4 responses in the last 3 days. That's not even remotely close to what was experienced on the Apple forums.

Just like the first few iPhone 4's I had, good thing I had the patience to keep returning them till I got one that functions right.

Then to think my very first Android phone had no faults. The Samsung Galaxy S has great call quality and terrific quality control. Fast & Fun it's brilliant Super AMOLED 4" display has great clarity & contrast.

That's backwards compared to the Apple of the past. But not unexpected as I had to return four 2010 MacBook Pros before getting a good one.

No wonder my Apple stock is doing so well, Apples put quality control checks in the hands of the customers. Very smart really, they know not everyone is that patient.

Wow, I've owned three MBPs, one MB, one Mac Pro, one iMac, about 10 iPhones and still own 5, and i have only had to return one iPhone. I've always been extremely impressed with Apples quality control.

This entire thread (and the fact that it exists in the iphone forum) is comedy gold.

Apparently, quite a few people's butts still hurt from the antenna detuning affair.

Here's some advice: get over it.
