I haven't seen any drop tests with a bumper (or other iPhone 4 case for that matter).

I did a quick search couldn't find any.

Someone want to do one? Whats the worst that could happen?

I dropped mine from about 3 ft. up with a bumper on, onto tile floor. Nothing happened to the phone. Part of the hard plastic on the bumper was actually dented in from where the impact occurred. Thankfully it did its job.

I dropped mine yesterday on my kitchen tile floor and it was still all good

Well, if there are no video drop tests, then it would be great if more people would write about their experiences dropping it using the bumper. I'm scared to death about breaking my sexy glass brick. It seems like the iPhone 4 can take direct impacts fine, just not on the edge. Kinda like shower glass.

I actually like my bumper so far. Much nicer than I thought it would be. Mine doesn't wiggle as much as some people say theirs do. Thinking about getting some glass protectors though.

Considering how many people are sacraficing their iphones just to show others it can break, it's shocking no ones done a test with the bumper on.

theiphoneblog.com had a post saying stop sending in different ways your breaking your phone, we're not going to post them.

Dropped mine from a granite countertop down onto a step stool, bounced off the stool and hit the lino floor.

I had the bumper on.

Phone is in pristine shape. As is the bumper, FWIW.

why do you need a video? Do you think when you accidentally drop your phone it will be under the same circumstances? Just because it didnt break for someone doesnt mean it wont break for you.

I dropped mine from my niece's bunk bed, then I heard it hit one of the metal bars...
look at it...
perfectly fine.

i have made a few tests without any bumper:

I "accidentally" dropped my iphone 50ft from roof of an apartment building onto the street, no major damage but the back has many light scratches now! i thought it was suppose to be scratch resistant!

You dropped it 50ft on concrete and you are complaining it scratched?

Two accidental drops on a wooden floor, no damage. But it can be damaged on the face of the phones if the ground is hard and uneven. Skins take care of that eventuality. Bumper plus skins are the closest thing to a naked iPhone4, but with reasonable protection.

be a good mac rumor member, drop your iphone4 (obviously with video, or it didnt happen) as a test , and report back with the results

Engadget or Gizmodo did one and on the second drop (from3.5') it popped the screen. Only thing is, there were no guts in the phone (just a shell).

They did this with a bumper on? Do you have a link? I'd like to see it.

I have a bumper, but sorry, I'm a bit OCD about keeping my iPhone looking nice, so no on purpose dropsies here. :p

Theres a thread on here about a guy dropping it from 2 feet and breaking the back glass, its probably the link right above my post, im just to lazy to investigate.

Hard plastic cases like the bumper will only do so much to protect your phone. They will help dissipate the force of any fall over a larger area but won't do much to decelerate your phone more gracefully during the impact. A softer case offers better protection.
