dropbox is a handy piece of software but they are missing some key features in this release. Mainly Events, where you can see when something is added or changed to the dropbox. The power of dropbox is being able to share a dropbox folder with someone else. What is the point of the app if you can't tell when something is updated or changed in the folder? Also they should go a step further and add push notifications to alert you of changes.

Just my 2 cents.

Do you mean on the iPhone/iPad? The Mac version uses Growl for popup notifications of new/changed files, which works fine for me.

Don't need this now that I have goodreader

This is great and all but since I got GoodReader it allows me to link to not only dropbox, but my FTP websites. Plus I can look at files in goodreader and only when I choose to can open them in Iwork apps. I don't need another app even if it is from the dropbox. A day late IMO.

I love the dropbox app for my iphone, but one feature I wish it had is the ability to paste in a URL (say for a file I want to download, but can't since I'm on my iPhone) then the app would download the file and post it in the dropbox for me. That would be super handy.

The problem i have with dropbox on the ipad is that, you cant edit files like word or excel.

I can pull them into pages and goodreader but whats the point in that if i can't make edits when i need to.

Yeah you can, I can open docs in Pages, ppt in Keynote, so I assume I can open excel in numbers.

Got a question for you guys:

Could you open, say, a pages document from Dropbox, have it load up in the Pages app, do some editing, save, and have Dropbox track the changes?

I'm basically asking if it's possible for DB to automatically upload a newer version of a document you opened whilst saving in Pages.app?

Dumb app can't create a folder in your dropbox (ie: if you want to share an album on the fly)

Can anyone tell me, step by step, how to use dropbox to sync your safari/firefox bookmarks? I've found some info on the dropbox site, but it seems way too complicated for a lamen.

And do you think it would be possible to sync those "Secure Notes" in keychain?

Thanks in advance.
