I know its accidental, but am I the only one that doesn't understand how you drop a $2,000 piece of equipment? I guard my notebooks with my life when I carry them, and place them on tables ever so lightly. Some people just dont respect their investments.
 
Is it possible for him to get it replaced if his function keys are slanted? that was before he dropped it already

EDIT: He just told me all the keys are slanted a bit up on the right. Can he get it replaced because of that? and will he get a whole new one? or will they just put a new keyboard in?

NO once he dropped it, the warranty is voided even if he bought applecare.

I'm pretty sure this is innaccurate. If he gets it repaired by an authorized repair center, or Apple, the repaired machine should still be under warranty. Warranties don't cover user damage, but that doesn't mean user damage voids a warranty, unless the damage comes from opening the computer and mucking about.
