At first they said they would. But then they said they were not going to pay for the repair. Their reason "we don't normally do that".
I'm not sure what the status is with it now, but I do know that complaints with the airlines go nowhere.

Do you have any proof? Do you have anything in writing?

I would first start writing letters to the people with decision making power in the Airline. Ask for compensation for the time you have spent dealing with this.

If they do not pay and you have proof go to court. Include fees for time you have spent and any legal fees.
 
The harddrive making more noise may also be because the aluminium is bent. When I got my latest MBP the first one I recieved was bent out of the box which made the drive much lounder, dont know why but it did. When I recieved my replacement, non bend the harddrive was quiet. Its more likely you harddrive is going to tank after that damage but just saying you might be lucky and thats all there is to it, just the bent case.
