what a mistake. the fragmentation is nasty. that 5.5 is WAY to large for active people.

My 4.7 even feels slightly large but i've come to enjoy it. Works for business and is comfortable enough during gym sessions and jogs. But fragmenting it with something so important as the camera is such a mistake.

Apples move and im sure i won't hurt them as a departing customer, but if the S8E builds off of the S7, that'll be my next phone.
So I'm not active yet have a 5.5" phone? Guess I can't mountain bike, ski, run, hike with my giant phone.... oh wait.... did some of those very things this past weekend..... What a silly comment.

I HOPE they do this just so I can come back and see all the posts from those crying about it..... I mean it's great to see them when it's a rumor but will be AWESOME to read them when/if it's fact!!

Lame. I don't want a giant phone.
then don't buy one.... easy peasy!

Bigger phone has more hardware. No duh. Big deal.
I see no problem with this lineup
You mean someone gets it? Wow thought I was the only one.

I think Apple will drop the 's' designation, because Apple probably has realized that in the minds of a significant portion of the iPhone-buying population, 's' stands for same look. That's why I'm speculating with the ME/LE designations. As for a compelling reason to purchase an iPhone [ME/LE], you have to realize that we are now experiencing a saturated, mature market where subsidized contracts have largely gone the way of the dinosaurs. In other words, every iPhone may need to look cosmetically different, even if minor from each other. Improvements from year to year may be a little more subtle as well. The two year "schedule" doesn't hold water anymore. It's not 2010 anymore.

While that is true, Apple still realise that they have to give people a reason to upgrade, more so the people who have a 6S, personally I will be upgrading because I currently have the 6 Plus. To be fair Apple did give the buggiest S upgrade with the 6S. The dual camera feature does sound good, that is one thing I'm looking forward to, who knows maybe Apple will surprise us, after all they have to have something to announce in September.

Theoretically speaking, if Apple released a significantly redesigned iPhone next year with mLED and wireless charging to mark the tenth anniversary of the iPhone, is there a good chance you would purchase it? By the way, what do you mean by buggiest S upgrade?!?!

Whenever competition has something better, it's always a gimmick.
S7 focuses much faster in lower light and produces much better pictures in those kinds of conditions. That much is a fact.
Ah.. low light condition.. funny that people talk about mobile phone like it's DSLR.

Yes I would purchase it if that's what Apple are planning. I meant the biggest upgraded not the buggiest (spelling mistake on my iPhone).

Sorry I meant biggest not buggiest, auto correct on my iPhone changed it

I assume you only take pictures at noon (not in overcast conditions of course. You carry an SLR for everything else.)

Please... I took a lot of photo at dusk (6 PM) and it focused just fine. Like I said, lifted the phone, pressed Volumn Up and voila! The picture was sharp.
Is it your imagination that iPhone 6s has focus problem?

I thought your "low light condition" referred to candle light situation. Now I know you're just talking crap.

Yeah, you have to be careful with the spellchecker. Sometimes, I feel like disabling it, but it can be very convenient so I keep using it.

Dozens of reviewers noticed a difference between focusing speeds of these two phones, and now you're here acting as if it's not a big deal (or a deal at all), because, of course, when Apple is behind in some specs, they instantly become useless and worthless. Pathetic, apologetic, fanboy behavior.

I want a smart phone with an optical zoom so I can ditch my camera. Let me know when that happens.

Chill, pathetic hater. Not everything is about Apple vs. Samsung. In this case, even if iPhone 7 this year has better camera and better focus than S7, and it certainly will, but not new technology I wouldn't upgrade for that. iPhone 6s is beyond good enough. Never had I shot a photo and think "if focusing is faster..."
So yes, it's a "yaaawn.." for me (and remind me of "spec whore, feature lists whore" Windows users were famous about). If you don't understand that, then it's you who are living in a warped world.
