I go to customers and onsite they have dual monitor setups.
Interesting, that's certainly an out of the ordinary situation. You'd expect they'd provide a USBC or TB3 dock at any dual-monitor hotelling stations these days. *shrug* it is what it is. My use case, as with many/most folks, is to achieve a single-cable home/office dual-monitor docking solution, where portability is not a factor.

I'm doing a job now where dual monitors are desired, both mine are DVI and formerly used with 2008 MacBook. I'm not ready to replace the monitors. Now using 2017 MacBook Pro 13" and using this USB-C > DVI cable direct to monitor. If i buy another DVI cable, can I achieve the dual monitor result by also using this CharJen hub?

Thanks for any help!

Nice Hub, finally dual screen support but no charging option so still no usb hub that fits my needs.

I personally want something like the Caldigit TS3, with the dual extended monitor support and power supply, but without the $300 price tag. I would be fine with spending $150 on such a dock, but all the $150 price point docks either only support dual "mirrored" displays or don't have a power supply.

Found a hub that charges, dual display, ethernet but it uses two usb-c slots: https://lmp-adapter.com/product/lmp-usb-c-display-dock/

Note: Dual monitor support can be achieved in these combinations only: HDMI (4K@60 Hz) + Mini-DP or DP (4K@30 Hz); HDMI (4K@60 Hz) + VGA (1080p@60 Hz); Mini-DP or DP (4K@30 Hz) + DVI (1080p@30 Hz); VGA (1080p@30 Hz) + DVI (1080p@60 Hz). It is NOT possible to use the combination HDMI + DVI!

P/N 17116
KEY FEATURES
  • All video ports in a versatile and unique USB-C dock
  • 4K@60 Hz via HDMI
  • Dual 4K monitor support
  • Gigabit Ethernet connection
  • USB 3.0 with 1.5A power output
  • USB-C port for power and data transfer
  • Dual USB-C connection for full functionality
  • Thunderbolt 3 compatible

Only downside is that MiniDP not supports 60hz
